Dress alterations regarding boobs...

Bethie, on July 27, 2015 at 7:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Has anyone had cups sewn into their dress for the purpose of adding some boobage? My dress fits really well without wearing a bra or any undergarments however I am the girl who only buys the Bombshell: Add 2-Cup Sizes bras from VS. Clearly, I felt very small in the chest without my extra oomph. They said they can add cups to increase the size but I do not want them to look all weird/unnatural. I could wear a strapless VS bra but backfat, I has it.

If you have had cups sewn in for added boobage, please post a pic of you in your dress! I'd love to see!

The only reason I'm adding bra cups to my dress is because it's much cheaper than having the seams taken in to make the dress not as loose around my arms and chest... that was the suggestion by the lady at the alterations shop.

No help here I can't even wear the bombshell because I got nothing to push together! But I totally creeped on your engagement pictures and SO FLIPPING CUTE! Just wanted to say that. I am sure there was a post when they came out but I have been AWOL.

@Athena!!! I have *just* enough to push together in the bombshell. &Thank you so much! Creep away! Haha, I posted a few of them on here a couple of days ago but there is so much going on in this community so I don't blame you for missing! Smiley smile

Bethie, I'm too big to use them, but other website brides seem to be mentioning NuBra for creating cleavage where none usually exists Smiley smile Maybe this, paired with the cups in your dress could be an option? http://www.nubra.com/home.php

Also, there's an older WW post about filling out the bust of a dress - maybe that will be helpful...https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/filling-out-the-dress/3ff02b4cd17ec6ca.html?page=2

Thank you! Yea, the dress fits fine with my small bust, I just feel like I'm lacking and want more. I don't even need cleavage, my dress actually goes up to my collar bones. I just wonder if the sew in cups are going to look weird/unnatural. If they do, I'll probably just end up rockin' my baby Bs!

I don't really need it for my dress fit but I am having cups sewn in for that little bit of extra oomph lol. There are different kinds of cups for different effect. I tried a pair one with padded gel that when i put them in my dress, it was like whoaaa. It looked a little too ridiculous on me. I settled for some cotton cups with very little padding. In my area, cups were just $20 alteration cost that I could live with compared to much more for a new VS bra.

What a good question and I am wondering the same thing. My dress came in today and I am going tomorrow for a fitting (EEeek!) I will be asking the same questions tomorrow, but a friend who is similar in size said she had cups sewn in to add a little extra. I have a feeling I will do the same.

I have the exact same issue. I am going to have cups sewn in but don't have any pictures of it. I did try my dress on with the cups kind of tucked in there just to see how it would look, and it looked very natural and added just enough so that my dress didn't look empty up top.

Thanks, ladies!!! @Jen - Could you let me know how it goes? My dress is on order right now so I won't have my first alteration appointment until 10ish weeks from now. Hopefully I'll be able to test out the fake boobs also! Haha

I had them added! I don't think they look weird at all - go for it!
