But ... this 2 year wedding planning and 3 different dates have me plowed under. The first 3 dates were family challenges and the last one is Covid. So, on a happier note, tell me which one? I think that I am the same weight in both dresses. When I asked yesterday, you said to try them both on... So...

When I asked yesterday, you said to try them both on... So here they are! Mermaid flare or Aline?? Smiley smile

I’m glad you tried it as well that way you won’t have any regrets. Hopefully you can switch your deposit over. Fingers crossed.

Dress 2 cost $1500. I have only put down a $400 deposit (it was a store sample). Even if I lose the deposit I still saved $1100 that I don't have to pay now. My new dress cost $320 (discontinued store sample). So, I save $780 even if the deposit is gone. But - I'd have the mermaid and $780.

I really want the deposit to be changed to a store credit, but I'll have to wait and see... They are closed right now.

I would normally say A-line, but in this case I think the mermaid is more flattering on your figure.

I love the mermaid dress. But I’m also biased towards mermaid dresses because they hug all the right places. My dress is an a-line that has a soft mermaid shape.

Yes, try to get your deposit back and go with the mermaid dress. It looks amazing on you. I’m not usually a fan of the mermaid dresses, but it flatters you beautifully.

The first, body hugging one. It needs a petticoat. And it is not a mermaid. Mermaids hug the body down to below the knee, sometime mid calf, before they spread. This is more balanced on you, nicer that it flares mid thigh. Whether called a fit and flare, or a trumpet skirt, flaring at mid thigh, when shopping for a petticoat , ones labelled mermaid will not flare high enough to shape your dress into a gentle trumpet bell bottom that gives a sensuous double curve to your dress. If you try a few different ones, more or less ruffling, you will hit perfect spread of the skirt to flatter you. A petticoat also spreads the skirt away from your feet, so in never gets in your way walking or dancing. Good deal on a great dress .

I totally agree. It's not a mermaid or trumpet since there is a seam where the flare begins. I called it a flare but it seems like a modified mermaid of some kind. The dress has so much lining that I think with a little fluffing it will be amazing. But I love underskirts too. Here's an idea of the fullness.Dress 1 or 2? i think i know which... 2
