Dream Venue

Let's pretend that you can design your venue from the ground up. What would you require, what would you like, what would be a bonus? If you've already celebrated your day, what would you have changed about the venue if you could? What did you love? If you've booked a venue, what did you fall in love with? If you're still looking, why haven't you found your place?
---
For me, the two things I wish I could have changed:-Separate restrooms for the ballroom/event not shared with the bar or restaurant at the hotel-They put in blue and beige carpet when my colors were black and metallics. Not that anyone else cared!Dream Venue 1

This is a fun idea! My venue was my dream venue—upscale hotel with gorgeous rooms and great resort amenities for my guests who chose to stay on property, beautiful outdoor spaces for the ceremony and cocktail hour with an airy ballroom for the reception. On-property spa and salon for pre-wedding pampering. On-site chef experienced in designing custom, high-end event menus. Large getting ready rooms with ample outlets, table space and a private bathroom and kitchen. Great location not far from the major airport and within walking distance or a quick Uber from lots of other dining and entertainment. I really can’t think of anything I’d change!

I feel you on the carpet!! My venue was pretty perfect but that's the one thing I would have changed!! The carpet didn't match my gold / burgundy / pink décor at all and was just a very generic looking "event room carpeting"! Smiley laugh

I feel like that is SO DEPRESSING. It's such a small thing, but if you have blue carpet and a color scheme that has no blue in it, then it just doesn't go.

My venue was being built when we booked, so many of the finishes were not complete/planned until toward the end, and at that point, it was too late. Smiley smile

I'd much rather have had tile or a hardwood? I wonder if the sound is amplified too much if there isn't carpet?

    Smiley smile

In a spring forest with lots of lush greenery. No bugs. On site catering. Sizeable bathroom. Ample parking. Macrame and twinkle lights everywhere. Comfy chairs for guests arranged in a circle around us for the ceremony. Live acoustic music.

Our venue was pretty close to our "dream" venue. It was a very modern barn designed specifically for weddings with beautiful poured concrete floors and dance floor, an airy well lit mid-century modern bridal loft, and surrounded by greenery and nature. The one thing I didn't care for about our venue was that the arbor was made out of birch bark and very rustic and didn't quite fit the contemporary vibe of everything else. We made due by draping it in a chiffon fabric and installing a floral swag, but I would have loved if the arbor was just a bit more clean and modern looking.

Overall though, we loved our venue and had an incredible experience. The customer service was top notch and we felt so cared for. I would absolutely 100% recommend them to anyone else and have zero regrets choosing our venue for our wedding day.
