Double-sided wedding invites?!

Mariah, on July 20, 2020 at 5:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

So I sent my invitations out and people are starting to receive them. However, I got a text message from my aunt today saying she received the Reception details but where are the Ceremony details. My heart dropped!! Here, she didn't flip the invite over. She said she never had an invite that was double-sided before and hopefully people know to flip it over.

Am I making a big deal out of nothing? Ceremony info is on the front with 3 pictures and Reception/Cocktail Hour info is on the back! FYI - I sent out 150 invites so no way I am "redoing" all of these!

Thanks!

Oh my I’d probably reach out to your closest guests and find out if they had the same issue. I haven’t had an invitation that was double sided so I think this could be a mistaken easily overseen because most guests would assume it’s just the front that has the information not the back 😯 if you get a certain amount of people that say they didn’t notice the back or struggled because they couldn’t find certain information then I would consider doing some type of online platform to spread the message so that you don’t have to re do 150 invitations. Best wishes !

Agree with this. Contact a few vips and see if they had issues. If they did, then you can spread a message via text/email to resolve the confusion.

I hope this isn’t an issue, because I paid a lot extra to have a beautiful custom design on the back of my invitations! LOL I didn’t put any info on the back, but I hope that beautiful artwork at least gets seen. Maybe I’ll put them face down in the envelope so they are forced to see the artwork 😂

I did mine front and back also so I could save paper. I think people would be OK to figure out themselves

I’ve never received a double- sided invitation, but if I didn’t see all the information I would flip it over before assuming it just wasn’t there. Like PPs said, maybe reach out to a few people and make sure.

I don’t think it will be an issue for many. I always quickly flip a card or invitation over just in case. Surely other people do too. Fingers crossed!

I think this is more common now, I think I’ve only received invites like this. Saves paper! I think most will figure it out.

Our invites are double sided. We just put our wedding website on the back and had people look up the details of the wedding. On the front we just had the time and place of the ceremony. So far no questions from anyone so I think you should be fine!

I had a little blurb at the bottom of the front side of our invite that said reception info on back side.

I have never seen or even heard of double sided invitations. That being said, I would hope that people are intelligent enough to flip it over if they realize information is missing...

I think most people flip things over out of curiosity; it's a bit odd to assume nothing is on the other side, to me at least. We put a little letter/story on the back that I'm really hoping people see. I'd do what others suggested and check with a variety of guests to see if it's just your aunt or not.
