Donut Wedding Cake?!

We are doing donuts for about 120 guest (2-3 per person) and its going to be $300. I live in Florida and we have a mini donut factory that I am getting them from.

Try a local shop for better deals. The best donut shop I've ever been to is half a block from my house and only charges $1 a piece

So does anyone know how much a cake would cost to serve that many people? I have been telling my fiance about this and he seems to think donuts are crazy expensive! Haha

I LOVE the replacement of traditional decorated cakes for more simple treats for dessert. we are doing pies instead of cake. ill hard pass on a slice of cake every day unless i'm totally in the mood for one (basically portillos chocolate cake only) but ill do pie any day. share the same feelings about donuts.

you're going to be saving money by not having to pay for decorating a cake. or you'll be breaking about even between the 2 because you opt to get more donuts with the money saved. check local bakeries. get a really good big variety. it will be a huge hit. i'm still considering doing the same!

OMG y'all have crazy expensive donuts lol. We have a local donut shop called Mary Lou's and their donuts are AMAZING. And only 50¢ each! Now I'm considering this idea...hmm.

It depends what kind of donuts you want of course. Do you want fancy huckleberry and raspberry mojito donuts? Or glazed donuts from the hole in the wall donut shop? We're doing hole in the wall, I think it's $35 or $45 for 4 dozen. We're also getting cake, cookies, and brownies. And a s'mores lounge.
