Donating Wedding Flowers

Denesha, on May 21, 2018 at 6:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
I’m interested in donating my wedding flowers after the reception. I’ve seen several organizations that will pick them up nationwide, but none in the Baltimore area. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The only one I could find online is the bloom project, but can’t see where they are located (sorry).
Another thought would be to contact a local nursing home and ask if they would be interested? I’m sure they could have someone pick them up and repurpose them to multiple flowers/bouquets

You could talk to your florist to see if they have suggestions. If your florist comes to pick up the rented items/centerpieces at the end of the night, they might be able to donate them for you.

We are planning on getting married in Baltimore next spring and I actually posted about this same thing! We are still in the early stages of planning our wedding and haven’t contacted anyone about this yet. I would love to hear if you find anywhere to donate them! I did post about this and you can check out some of the ideas that people gave me here: https://m.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/floral-centerpiece-donation/4477a14ddbbd4524.html

If I find any places to donate ours, I will definitely try to let you know! Good luck!

What about VA/military cemeteries in the area? Not sure that they will pick up but after my grandpas funeral, we took apart the large wreaths and arrangements and donated them to the national cemetery in Hawaii. They were very grateful and asked us to specifically place them on graves of unknown fallen soldiers.

I was jus going to say nursing home! Iv worked in nursing homes for 8 years. All the coworkers and families allways give extra or left over decerations. The residents love it. It brings life and joy into the building. And actives dept. Is always taking stuff to do with them. Like make centerpices for there tables or things to hang from there doors.

Take them to an old folks home on your own and pass them out individually. It'll make them happy to see happiness like that again. Its also a great way to get good marriage advise.

Great idea, but we are going to our honeymoon the next day. We won’t have time for that.

We are making arrangements for my sister to take our centerpieces to the cancer center in DC the next day. It was FHs idea and I absolutely loved it!
