Does your dress match your venue style?

Beautiful dress and venue! I have also been engaged too long haha but we are in the home stretch now. I didn’t intentionally match my dress to my venue but later I realized they go together very well. Here’s some pics. Kind of a flowy, romantic, floral vibe

Yes and No! If you decide barn = rustic and that means burlap, piles of vegetables, and ball jars with things in them, you will still be gorgeous but look out of place in the venue. And if you do what a real country person does with a barn venue for a dance, and hang some soft , light and glittery fabric at at least one end with some yellow and blue criss crossed spotlights, and lanterns at intervals, with small as well as large tables, like a beer garden or patio of a country Inn. Use lots of flowers, some hanging flowering plants at 6.5 feet in half round containers, everything dressed up, just not giltzy or sophisticated Forget fussy table centerpieces, just use light bright mixed colors of plain or flowered tablecloths ( again, not black and white, and not rustic checkered or feedbags either. ) Then your dress will fit right in. The biggest decorations will be the colors of the ladies gowns, so hope they dress colorfully with little black. Semiformal or dressy, not black tie, which would be horribly out of place. The big open room is what you make it.

A real Victorian Country girl's dress for an outdoor barn or grove of trees with lanterns. Not an indoor ballroom, always city people in their vacation homes.

Mine does not haha. Catholic Church & historic estate venue, modern dress. But it’s fine by me! I love both vintage & modern so it’s very much my style haha.

Your dress is GORGEOUS 😍😍. I’ve seen Your dress on Maggie Sottero‘a page as well and I’m on the same boat as you as far as venue and similar dress and wondering if they compliment each other. I think your dress is beautiful and romantic and looks lovely with your venue. I think people get a wrong Impression that all Barn wedding are super rustic and low end. From your photo your venue looks rustic chic! Love it. I chose the dress I felt most beautiful in and a “princess” in and I am assuming you did too? It’s your wedding wear what you feel beautiful in!
You can like a barn wedding vibe but want to wear a A line Ballgown too! Only thing to consider is a veil length. I love cathedral and that’s what I’m going with even though it might be too much for a barn wedding lol.

Mine definitely matches my venue style, but if someone's dress didn't I wouldn't necessarily think it was a big deal

Your dress is gorgeous! My dress matches my venue i think. Its a rustic and romantic glass building with outdoor ceremony at the end of this long white bridge. Its very soft and romantic and my dress is a tan underlay with white lace overlay. Its very romantic looking and i think matches my inspiration for the wedding for sure

You certainly can but I have never heard of this being a criteria. The dress should look and feel gorgeous on you and not be related to the venue at all.

My wedding is in the backyard and it's a rustic laid back casual wedding with lawn games and BBQ. My wedding dress on the other hand is far from that lol. I just loved the dress I picked and dont care how different from my theme and venue my dress is.

We purchased my daughters dress a year ago because she was going to be moving from Kentucky to Reno. We thought she would be getting married sooner but with Covid and life She is getting married in September at Lake Tahoe. A simple small outdoor wedding. This is her dress.

My dress did match my venue style, but your dress doesn't have to if you don't want it to.

Yes mine did. I wanted a modest dress from the very beginning and the only modest ones were vintage ones. So naturally I went for a vintage venue too. And a vintage hair-do. So it was really my vision at the start that dictated every choice... so naturally it ended up with just about everything looking like they matched in style. But if you're going for a more modern look, there's really no right or wrong in terms of style matches, since modern styles are so diverse!

Hi!!! Love the dress!! Look.... our dress is our personality. What we love the most and want!! Our venue is what we can afford and or what we want even if churches are free. My daughter has always always wanted to be married in a field.
She has a farmhouse style home.....but she is totally a Princess Bride! She loves traditional, and new, mixed with old, and when the castle we had planned fell through due to COVID.... we found the next best thing.
So the barn and beautiful outdoor/pavilion wedding is what we picked. But...we decided not to use the burlap and mason jars. We are going elegant and I’ve seen all the wedding at this venue and one in particular stood out...it was elegant and sweet. Honestly though...my daughter and her fiancé are sooooo different that he got his Taco bar and fireworks and she will get her dream wedding. Her dress is the most elegant and the string lights are gorgeous so we are going to use pretty copper chargers as the centerpiece instead of slabs of wood and one blush rose flower and baby’s breath with candles for each table. And delicate blush fabric over the linens. Ahhh yes.... simplifying the simple and making it precious. Look at this dress!! I’mSo excited for her!!!!!!
