You can pick as you please. I normally see the theme or colors sort of tie together somehow, but dont think its required unless i.e. your bouquet, or BM colors severely clash with decor.

It doesnt need really need to match but if you have a theme color then you probably want to go with the colors but the setting doesnt have to be the same. My ceremony and reception are both in different venues and they dont really match but i put in my colors according to the theme i chose

    Thats kinda my issue.
I originally was doing. Burgandy black and silver eith pearls.
The bouquets will have pearls all the girls are wesring pearls.
Pearls and gold clash bad i think.
I was working on a centerpiecd to see if i liked it and i added like a copper penny gold leaves too it and its very fall and i love it and it goes so well with a november wedding but the pearls dont go.

Of course. We had different color schemes at the ceremony, the luncheon after the ceremony (which was at a restaurant, and we just relied on what they normally had), and at the at-home reception. You obviously don't want to make all your attendants change clothes, but you can decorate how you please at each event.

Do as you please at each place. When in doubt about clashes, default to more neutral color items, so strong or bold colors or ones that would clash side by side, have space between them. You could do 20 tables flowers and napkins and charger plates in 20 colors, and look fine with all white table cloths and clear glass dishes and barware Because the pops of color were separated, like a garden with many colored flowers, all of which have green or brown stems or leaves, no clashing. Most people choose a limited number of colors do they can mix and match those, needing little design or aesthetic. skills. But if you have a good eye, you can do two spaces totally differently, without it being jarring or incongruous at all. Just use more neutrals in each space than you would if both places were uniformly matchy matchy.
