Does anyone have the WOW factor

Patti, on August 4, 2010 at 2:31 PM Posted in Planning 0 17

Does anyone have the WOW factor in their wedding plans. What I mean is something that stands out from all other weddings. Something different. If you do I would like to hear about it.

A lot of people are shocked that I am using black roses. :-/

Thats about the only thing in my wedding that has the wow factor, the rest is just kind of common.

Vacation rental house, fun themed, pontoon boats, pool table, kayaks, canoes, bouncy house for kids, cotton candy, and snow cones. nothing traditional about our day!!! it was cheaper to rent a vacation house on the lake for 3 days and nights versus a reception hall and food! we'll prepare our OWN food at a cheaper cost!!

@ Kali, I love your black roses idea they look great!

Our families are both pretty traditional so when I explained we're doing a morning wedding and a breakfast reception, lots of people were thrown off Smiley smile in a good way though. It really suits our personality and I am a really sentimental person so having the wedding pictures of all our relatives and grandparents great grandparents ect displayed on the tables, is really cool.

A suprise dance. Some couples take dance lessons without family and friends knowing. its cute. It doesnt have to be like a hip hop even a classical dance. Another suprise is fireworks. Change of dress.

My FH is having his own grand entrance, too. He is riding up with his brother and best man in their harley motorcycles. When I hear those bikes come up the road to where we are going to be married, I know Im gonna break down. Smiley smile

Also, instead of just table numbers, I want to name the tables after all the fun places we have been to and have a brief explanation of the place along with photos. Gives the people something to read while eating.

We are going to have a photobooth, a lounge area with couches and such, and I think my cake will be amazing!

I'm WOWing as I read all the WOW ideas! Haha. I wish I had more of a wow. Although when I walked into the ballroom of our old farmhouse venue for the first time that is all i said, "WOW"

@blessed_momma — I love your idea of renting a vacation home and making a weekend of your wedding. That will definitely be an awesome time! Wish I had thought of that!

We have an 8-piece band. We're so pumped to have them!!! We were only able to afford it because my brother offered to take pictures for us, so we opted to splurge on the band because music means a lot to both of us as well as many of our friends and family.
