Someone once talked about a hand ceremony thing on here. I wonder if you can google it. It seemed cool.

You are probably referring to a handfasting. That is traditionally either a native american or pagan ceremony.

There is a rose ceremony. A very beautiful and wonderful ceremony if you utilize it in your marriage.

There is also sharing of ale and cakes.

Well we aren't doing a unity candle nor sand pouring or anything around that. We feel the words we say to each other are enough.

I love the rose ceremony, or at least the one I read about!!! Not doing it but I loooove the idea!

People in your family and his family get roses and put them in a vase and you and your FH add water which is the "life" of the flowers and WA-LA! Something like that haha

OK I know this may be a bit much but we are having the following: Sand Ceremony with my chilren,

Wine Ceremony (we pour from 2 bottles into carafe then into glass and each drink....some sort of scripture goes with this).

AND Blessing of the shells, since we are getting married on ocean side deck, each guest will be given sand dollar when they arrive and during ceremony instructed to convey their blessings for us and at end of ceremony everyone walks to the ocean and tosses the shells in.

Unity cross - representing how the -Two become One. The Groom places the outer Cross in the beautiful wood base as the Pastor explains how God created man- Bold, Strong, the Defender of the Family yet how he is empty and incomplete without the woman. The Bride then places the more delicate cross inside of the Grooms cross as the Pastor explains how God created Woman- Delicate, multi-faceted, taking care of all of the little things that completes the man, and the -Two become One. The Bride and Groom then use the 3 golden pegs to lock the union(cross) together in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit as the pastor exclaims that: What God has brought together let no man take apart.

Here are a whole bunch of ceremonies and rituals - Handfasting, tea, rose, ring blessing, etc.

We did the rose ceremony and it was really beautiful. I thought about a handfasting, but once I brought it up my family flipped out because it has pagan roots.

Ask your officiant for suggestions. That is their job and I am sure they will have some really cool thoughts.

We'll be doing the wine box ceremony also. For the ladies who are doing this (or love letter ceremony), have you bought your box yet? If so, where?
