Key elements of Victorian Gothic or Gothic Revival would be tapestries or red velvet, the pointed or gothic arch, globes, taxidermy, old books, musical instruments, candelabras, metal bowls, pewter, goblets, decorative urns.

Do any of these elements speak to your vision?

So what are the "roadblocks at every turn" you mentioned? no ideas? no budget? can't find the elements?

What is your palette? Pic of your venue?

I would love to incorporate the gothic arch, metal bowls, red velvet and black lace along with carosene lanterns into the vision I already have. But I have no idea of where to start looking for the elements that I need. Any ideas?

Having no idea of where in the world you live, and no idea of what your venue looks like. It;s hard to make recommendations.

Generic ideas: you could use a red velvet or black lace table runner with a black lantern. You can get lanterns from Five Below if you have one near you. The have lanterns for $5, but the styles change. They can be spray painted black. You can also buy used lanterns on local Bride to Bride or Buy and Sell Facebook pages. Ikea also has lack lanterns.

You don't have to have an extravagant floral arrangement as in the previous pic. You can use a pillar candle with a faux red rose at the base, or a real rose in a florist tube. You can cover the tube with a few pebbles.

You can supplement the lantern centerpieces with votive candles in small metal bowls. You can spray paint any small bowl in a pewter finish to act as a candle holder.

The gothic arch I would reserve for over the sweetheart table or as a backdrop for the head table if you have one.

Hi, I am doing a Victorian Gothic wedding as well (11/3/18)!! For centerpieces I am doing black candelabras with purple candles and a damask table runner. The table runner is provided from my venue, but I am doing the candelabras myself.

This Blythewood Plantation in Amite, LA. I am currently living in Lawton, OK. But I will be moving to Billings, OK, where FH lives. Billings is approximately 85 miles from the Oklahoma/Kansas border.

I have thought of doing three or four diy candelabras to place on a few of the tables as ceterpieces along with a flower arrangement with lots of red roses and other dark flowers beside it or something like that. I also have my heart set on incorporating red velvet, lots of black lace, metal bowls, pewter goblets, a gothic arch, globes, lots of old books, decorative urns and old musical instruments into my vision. With our wedding being set for next Halloween, I should be able to get my hands on some Halloween decorations that I can turn into some pretty cool wedding decorations.

Here are a few ideas that I found for the wedding arch to use as a,backdrop for the sweetheart table. I love all the examples I found. I'm just a little curious as to which one you would with if it was your wedding.

Our wedding colors are burgundy and black and I want to include pops of ivory. Before, I was having trouble coming up with ideas that I could use, but you were able to give me few ideas that I'm going to use. The photo is of Blythewood Plantation where we'll be holding the wedding and reception. It is in Amite City, LA.
