CC, on July 17, 2023 at 8:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12

Hey! Any advice on this please? I was planning on wearing mine however am getting married in Mexico so am a bit worried about the heat and it not coming off! I've read online some brides don't wear it and some do.

It’s personal preference. I wore mine and forgot to take it off so quickly slipped it off before the ring exchange. If you’re worried about it getting stuck because of the heat, I would maybe leave it off.

I plan to wear the engagment ring down the aisle, then have the wedding band placed on top.

I wore mine. I just wore it on my right hand and then after the ceremony just swapped it over

You can wear your e-ring on your left hand like usual, then have your FH put your wedding ring on top of it. Or you could wear it on your right hand, or even on a chain around your neck. Or you can simply not wear it at all! There's no "rule".. just do whatever you feel most comfortable with Smiley smile

Do your fingers usually swell in the heat/do you have difficulty getting it off in the summer? Like others have said, you don’t have to wear it or you can keep it on your right hand. But if you’re usually fine in the summer or whenever you’re in heat and humidity, then I wouldn’t worry too much.

My fingers swell in the heat which I've only recently discovered after having it resized as it was a touch too big! Thanks for the tip Smiley smile

Thank you! I'm thinking maybe have my wedding ring over it incase he can't get it off! Should have a clearer idea once we're in Mexico in that climate. Thank you Smiley smile

I’m planning on wearing the engagement ring on my right hand and after the ceremony having both the wedding band and engagement ring on (engagement goes on last). If you want you could leave the engagement ring on and the wedding band on top and switch it later too! Totally personal preference! Congratulations!!

I will be wearing my engagement ring on the left hand like normal for the ceremony. My fiance will just put the wedding band over the engagement ring and then when we are waiting for guests to clear out of the church so we can take photos I'll switch the rings to have the wedding band below the engagement ring.

My fiance, bridal party, and I all went to a school that values their class rings, so that ring will be on my right hand along with my ring guards that were a graduation gift, so it would look silly for me personally to wear the engagement ring on the right hand during the ceremony, which is why I'll settle for the rings being "backwards" for a few minutes.

I plan on wearing my engagement ring on my right hand and once the ceremony is complete I will slip it back over to my left hand so it will lay along with my wedding ring.
