Do you wear your engagement ring down the aisle?

LOL I feel like this is a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Are you supposed to wear your e-ring down the aisle, or does your S.O. place both the e-ring and wedding band on your finger during the ceremony? Or is it personal preference? This is why I ask. I haven't gotten my rings...

This is why I ask. I haven't gotten my rings soldered. I planned on it, but relatives convinced me not to (but I may after the wedding, if I still prefer it). My wedding band is a guard/wrap, so the e-ring will sit between the two bands. FH can't exactly just slide the wedding band onto my finger without me taking the e-ring off during the ceremony.

The Best Man will be holding onto our rings. Should I just let him hold onto my e-ring as well? Or simply remove the e-ring during the ring exchange and have FH place it in the guard before sliding the rings onto my finger?

As an alternative to all the suggestions of right hand:

We have 3 nephews of similar age and wanted to include them all so we had 3 ring bearers-- each one in charge of one ring (two wedding bands and one engagement ring). It fit our dilemma of how to meaningfully include all 3 and it solved the engagement ring question. I didn't want to wear it on my right hand because I was wearing one of my mom's rings on my right hand.

I forgot to put my e-ring on my right hand b4 walking down the aisle, so right b4 we did the ring exchange I put it on my right hand. After the ceremony I placed it back on left hand.

I poonever thought, or was told, anything about this. I wore my ring down the aisle as usual. My wedding band was placed in top of it. I wear them in reverse now, but only because I like the way it looks.

My suggestion, wear it on your right hand going down the aisle and then when you have a few seconds after the ring exchange part of the ceremony put the e-ring back on the left hand. I wouldn't wear the e-ring on the left hand and try to remember to swap the order of the rings later. I've seen professional wedding pictures where the engagement ring was closet to the hand and wedding band on the outside of it... like they forgot to swap the rings after the ceremony and it made me cringe! Why wouldn't the photographer say anything?!?

I was planning on wearing my wedding band down the aisle and have FH place the engagement ring on my finger during the ceremony. This way, my rings will be stacked in the correct order.

Not a stupid question at.. I was wondering the same thing.. In my case I will have a Band, Enhancer & E-Ring... I wanted a band so that I don't have to wear my E-ring & enhancer all of the time. So I was trying to figure out how we are supposed to do this without looking silly up there.. So thanks for putting this out there

I'm wearing mine down the aisle and just going to switch the wedding band and engagement ring after the ceremony.

The tradition is switch your engagement to you’re right hand ring finger the night before the ceremony. After FH has put on your WR he then returns the engagement ring on top of it on the left hand.
