Do you sit together on plane flights?

I fondly remember the days when I used to have an aisle seat... but once we started traveling together the question became: do we sit together (and I'm demoted to a middle seat), or sit separately (but maybe more comfortably)? What do you do? Do you sit next to each other on plane flights? Never,...

Do you sit next to each other on plane flights? Never, always, or sometimes?

We've only been on one flight together, but we sat together then! For our honeymoon, I'm hoping we get to sit together (we got AA basic economy so we didn't get to choose our seats).

The intent is to ALWAYS sit together because I hate sitting apart. Fortunately, we have all but one time sat side by side on our flights.

Sometimes. As best as we can but of course there are times when that's impossible.

We've actually never flown together! We probably would sit together if we end up flying somewhere.

If possible, always. We usually fly together at least twice a year.

LOL we try but usually when we fly we use our travel benefits (standby) and end up on opposite ends of the plane (flight deck jumpseat and flight attendant jumpseat). When we buy tickets we sit together and sometimes when a flight is wide open we get to sit together!

We've only been on one trip together but yes, always. I'm terrified of planes so I need someone to hold onto and I dont think a random stranger would appreciate me cutting off their circulation in their arm

For the most part I try to book us in the same row and try to leave the middle seat between us open. If the middle seat ends up getting booked then I will move to the middle

We've taken 3 trips together that have required flying. I'll outline it here:

    1. Trip to San Fransisco

We were senior in high school and decided to spend our Spring Break with my great aunt and uncle in California. We had only been dating maybe 4 months at this point (we had been inseparable for 8 months though) so we were still very much in the "we can't be apart phase" so we obviously sat together. It was about a 3 hour flight, super easy, all went well and we enjoyed being able to use each other as pillows.

    2. Trip to Hawaii

We have been together 3 years at this point and went to visit my parents in Hawaii. It was a 6 hour flight so we thought it might be best for both of us if we both got aisle seats right next to each other so we had plenty of leg rooms and could get up whenever. Long story short, it was the worst flight ever! Neither of us could get comfortable and our necks hurt for 2 days afterwards from the crazy positions we tried sleeping in.

    3. Trip to San Diego

This trip was around our 3 years, 8 months "anniversary" and we were going to see my fiance's brother and sister-in-law in San Diego. After our brutal trip to Hawaii, we decided that we'll forever sit next to each other and switch on who gets the middle seat. If I take the aisle on the way to our destination, he gets it coming home.
