Do you really need 2 seperate songs for the bridal party and the bride?

Jennifer, on June 12, 2012 at 6:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I wanted to use Bella's Lullaby to walk down to and we only have the flower girls/ring bearer then 2 couples (MOH with Best man and Bridesmaid with groomsman). It's a 3 minute song, so wouldn't that be plenty of time for all of us to walk? Or is it important to have 2 songs so the people know when to stand?

No need for 2 songs if you don't want. You can have ushers close the doors right after the ring bearer goes down, then wait a few seconds and open it again..and as the flower girl starts walking your officiant can say, "everyone please rise"...or something like that

I liked having the transition and pause between two different songs but I think it's totally up to you.

My bridal party is the exact same number of people. I really wanted two songs so I have everyone walking down alone instead of as a couple. And if necessary the first song can play out for the last few seconds before the next song starts and I begin to walk down. I don't think it's necessary to have two songs though. Do what you feel most comfortable with.

No but I think it's nice because the bride is special....My FH chose a song just for me for the harpist to play...I cried when he told us that's what he wanted me to walk towards him to...*cheesing*

I used one song, and the pianist just played some kind of bridge or something to indicate the bride's entrance.

I'm using one song for everyone. i have 3 bp members and then me (no fg or rb). so i think one song should be fine depending on how long your aisle is.

I agree with krisalicious, the pause between the two songs is a very big moment as it sets you (the bride) apart from the party. But definitely up to you. 3 minutes should be enough time

I just officiated a wedding where Canon in D was played on CD for the wedding party. When the groomsmen got up front, one picked up a violin and played Here Comes the Bride.

I am using two different songs because I want my guests to know when I am about to come in.

    Bella's Lullabye - BEAUTIFUL choice!

You should have your very own entrance though! what about just pausing the song before you come down? or stopping it, wait a few secs and start again? (not sure how that would sound!) whether or not you change the song, stop it or use the same one you should def wait a few after last brides maid. Ednabug had a good idea about closing doors and re-opening them.

No. Lots of my couples have their bridal party walk down to the same song as they do if it's not seriously 'bride'; (like "here comes the bride).
