Do you gift the bride and groom if you're an attendant?

If you're a bridesmaid or groomsmen, do you give the bride and groom a gift at/for the reception?

I always give a shower gift, and a wedding gift, when I am in a wedding party. I never bring a gift to the wedding, though. I have it delivered, or drop it off myself, weeks before the wedding usually, though occasionally right after the honeymoon is over, especially if the couple only move in together after marriage. So I send to the new address, rather than pre-marriage address, meaning they have to move it. The only time I do not give a wedding gift, after a shower gift, is if I /we do some major service as a gift.

"Back in the day" in the Metro NY/NJ/CT/PA there was ALWAYS a table set up for gifts at the wedding, including a basket for cards. The 3 times I was a bridesmaid, I gave a Waterford crystal bowl as a gift and brought it to the house a day or two before the wedding. I would NEVER bring a gift to the actual wedding itself, regardless of my role or for whom it was, simply because it is a pain in the butt to get all the packages home afterwards...

Gifts at bridal showers or shipped to house.
Bring a card for actual wedding and you’re supposed to give the amount of $100/ person as a gift inside.
