Do you ever take your engagement ring off? What are your "ring rules"? ๐Ÿ’

Has your new bling been a permanent fixture on your ring finger since the proposal? Or do you regularly remove your ring for your job or for certain activities? Do you abide by the "Six S Rules" and take your ring off when you sleep, shower, swim, sweat (workout), scrub (clean), or sautรฉ (cook)!...

I take it off when I sleep, shower, and sometimes when I cook/clean. It doesnโ€™t seem dirty in the slightest, but I did get it cleaned after about 4 months of wearing it and it and it made a HUGE difference!!

I abide by the 6 S's. It's the most expensive piece of jewelry I own so I don't want to ruin it. I was so afraid to even wear it until I had insurance. I don't ever wear it to sleep or in the shower, but I do wear it around the house.

Unknowingly I have bee abiding by the Six S Rules as well. I wore it to sleep a few times but found it be uncomfortable at certain times. Plus, before I got it resized, if I slept with it, it would fall out and freak me out in the morning when I tried to look for it and it wasn't not he stand where I usually leave it at.

I honestly take it off after taking off my outerwear and shoes. As a mom of teenage boys I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, and can't imagine keeping it on to wash meat, cook & do dishes etc. I leave it off because I don't sleep with it or shower with it. Nor wear at the beach or the pool.

It stays on my finger unless at work, in which case, it is locked up. I also take it off for showers and dish washing. I'd say I only wear it about half my day!

I wore it all the time for like the first three weeks and then it just kinda got old to put it on and off.. so I only wear it when I go out.

I would like to know what the 6 Sโ€™s are?!? I tried to google it and just kept getting blogs and people's opinions on the matter. Iโ€™ve been engaged for 3 months now and I wear my ring 24/7. I only take it off to shower and clean!

I take off my rings when I'm cleaning the house, working out, working outside, taking showers, and sleeping. I have a ring dish in the bathroom where I keep them.

I take my ring off only when showering or when cooking something like raw meats or something super messy. If I'm just sautรฉing up some vegetables, it stays!

I love to wear my wedding ring only on special occasions and feel special wearing the bling bling. Unfortunately due to my current student situation and so much lab work I have to preform, I prefer wearing a symbolic ring during those times. Hopefully when I graduate I will have more opportunities to wear my engagement ring.

I wear them 24/7! The only time I take them off is when I am either washing dishes/showering. I always were our engagement rings to work, to sleep, to clean the house , drive etc.

I love the idea of the 6 S's I guess I've kind of already abided by them and didn't realize it. I keep reminding myself that the item on my finger is very expensive and I can't lose it!! So I am extra careful and have a designated spot for it on my nightstand when it's not on my finger to try and keep it safe.

I take my ring off for work because I work in a hospital lab and am constantly taking gloves on and off, using cleaning chemicals, and washing my hands. I take it off to shower, wash my hands, do dishes, work out, swim, and put lotion on. The jeweler my FH bought my ring from said soaps and lotions can work their way between the diamonds and loosen the prongs and cause diamonds to fall off. I wear it for basically everything else though. It stays safely at home when I donโ€™t have it on so I know I wonโ€™t damage it or lose it anywhere, which is a big fear of mine!

As soon as I change into comfy clothes after work I take all of my jewelry off. If we happen to go out, I will put it all back on. I'm not good with taking my rings off when doing dishes or washing my hands. Because of this I bought a small in home jewelry steamer. It helps with the in between cleanings from the jewelry store.

I take it off as soon as I get home from work and put it in its box. I generally start cooking or hit up the gym after changing so Iโ€™m in the habit of putting away while home. On the weekends if around the house I donโ€™t wear it. Iโ€™m afraid of misplacing it or damaging it so I err on the side of caution.

Oh, we take them off all the time.

I take mine off whenever I deal with water - dishes, handwashing, showering, etc, so they don't get dirty or slide off. DH's ring is tungsten, so he *has* to take his off for safety reasons all the time. He got silicon rings as an alternative, but he saves them for work or other intensive activities. Neither of us wear them to bed.

While our rings are very important, we are also both actors, and are used to taking off jewelry of all kinds for acting work.

We were just on our honeymoon, so we'd hold each other's rings all the time. I do like to put his back on when I've been holding it - just a little moment to enjoy.
