Do my flower girls need 'flowers'?

mrswinteriscoming, on June 24, 2020 at 12:14 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 11

We are having 2 flower girls (both will be 3.5 years at the time of the wedding) and 1 page boy. The plan is, to ensure the girls actually make it to the altar, to have the page boy walk along with the girls in the middle, holding each girl's hand so that the three walk down the aisle together.

This isn't set in stone though, there won't be an issue if we have the two girls walk down together.

Our venue won't allow rose petals. Would it be odd to just have the girls walk down the aisle not holding anything? I'm thinking it might look bizarre them not doing anything with their hands, especially if we just have the two walk down together (instead of the page boy walking with them). Am I just overthinking?!

They could carry a kissing ball? I also think not having them carry anything is fine.

I agree with PP or maybe they can have small corsages. That's what I had my jr bridesmaids wear instead of holding a bouquet.

I made ribbon wands for the flower girl (and the other little girls attending the ceremony). I can't find a picture right now, but I think they turned out super cute.

They could carry floral pomanders. A round cluster of flowers with a looped ribbon to carry on their wrist.

This is what my niece will be carrying since our church says no to petals as well. Do my flower girls need 'flowers'? 1

Lots of places do not allow scattering flowers. I always like it when ( instead of corsages) flower girls have a basket with small beribboned bouquets to give grandmothers, mothers, and stepmothers of the bride and groom. Or when they carry a basket of single stems ( with Saran Wrap around cut end) and give them to the first person at the end of the row toward the aisle.

My friend had her “ring bearer” carry a sign that said “Here Comes the Bride.”
Maybe you could have the girls carry a little sign instead of throwing flower petals?

My venue does not allow flower petals either. My aunt made all of the bouquets. So she just made small ones for my flower girls.

I made flower balls for my flower girls. They were incredibly cute and super easy! If you want to go even easier too, you can get kissing balls pre-made on Amazon and then just add your colored flowers to them (like I did! 😁)

Not at all! If my girls can still make it (we are anxiously awaiting the DoD's decision), they will be using bubble blowers. We had thought to have FHs nephew carry a sign and walking behind them, but he is a little too timid.
