Do I tip the venue Facility Coordinator??

Raven, on March 24, 2017 at 3:20 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

I have tips and thank you notes planned for all of my vendors except for the venue. Is it expected to tip the facility coordinator of the wedding venue? It's part of our contract that one of the Facility Coordinators will be present through out the ceremony and reception, but it could be one of any of the three on staff. It's part of our contract that the venue will setup and breakdown their chairs/tables/equipment/etc. included in the rental. That doesn't mean that the "Facility Coordinator" is the one actually doing that manual labor work. Plus, The cost of the setup is already built into the rate of the rental. So, should I tip her? Btw, I have a separate crew decorating and coordinating the other vendors at the reception that is also being payed and tipped. That coordinator is staying the whole night too, but being payed for it.

If she is your contact person for the night then she would be the one you tip. The Wire suggests tipping your caterer (Facility Coordinator) 15 to 20% of the food bill. Best wishes!

If they did everything you felt was necessary to make your day smoother, yes.

I tipped mine, but she went above and beyond

At the wedding venue I work at the event managers can't accept tips. But if the couple leaves a tip then it is spilt between the servers and bartenders.
