Do i need a rehearsal?

Charlotte, on August 6, 2020 at 5:32 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7

We just decided to have a microwedding. Including us, there will only be 10 people total. Our parents and wedding party are the only guests. I'm assuming that we won't really walk down an aisle as we won't have any music. Brides who had a microwedding or elopement, did you have a rehearsal?

It doesn’t sound like you’ll need a rehearsal. There are people with larger weddings who don’t do one either

If you aren’t having music or walking down an aisle, I don’t think you would need to have a rehearsal.

If there’s no processional, I say then skip it

Regardless of size, unless you have a complicated processional or ceremony or you need to time the music just right, a rehearsal is optional.

We're not having a real rehearsal or a rehearsal dinner, but my fiancé, officiant, and I are going to walk through the ceremony the day before. Just so we can be sure we're all on the same page about the order of things and so we can point out anything we want him to tell people before we start (he's already making announcements about masks and being device-free) and figure out if we're missing anything that wouldn't be obvious. I feel like there are some things that it's hard to figure out/communicate over Zoom.

We do have music, but I'm the only one walking down the "aisle" so we don't need to figure out timing or anything.

We are planning on just going over the order of everything with our officiant once we get to the venue like two hours before the ceremony . No need for a full rehearsal for something this small.

My venue requires one. Double check your contract!
