Do i need a reception dress?

Rosa, on February 17, 2019 at 11:02 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 3
Hi, I decided to rent this beautiful wedding dress for ceremony and engagement shooting but I can’t wear this at reception by contract. So I came up with 2 ideas and here’s my options for a big day:

1. Wear my original puffy dress for ceremony and change to comfortable evening gown so that I can walk and dance freely.
2. Change to other puffy dress which I can wear untill reception(whole day) and enjoy being a queen.

Personally, I’ve been wearing many dresses because I did pageant in my past years. So I understand how annoying to breath and dance with ball gown. My sister said I should change my dress if I feel uncomfortable while my mom said I should wear a ball gown entire night because you know it’s once in a life time. I really want to feel comfortable but also like the puffy dress too.

What do you think? And what did you do or planning to do for your wedding?

Please help me lol

I have the big poofy dress, but I’m not sure if I’ll be a very happy camper in it after 10 hours mostly on my feet. My seamstress said the train will start to hurt my back after it is bustled because of a shift in weight distribution of the skirt. Nothing permanent, but enough to tire me.

I did spy a smaller gown with a very modern cut. Silouhette is a sleek little sheeth with some elements that could be medieval or contemporary—it can do both as it has some linear running bead work that hides all the seams. So I’m thinking about it.

I would do what makes the best sense budget wise. If the other puffy dress will allow you to dance in it then go for it. Why aren’t you allowed to wear the dress to your reception? I’m not familiar with renting wedding dresses.

Hey Rosa! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

Your dress is so gorgeous, I love the ballgown style! Agreeing with Chrystal, I would go with whatever makes sense budget wise! I always liked the look of changing into a more sleek dress for dancing at the reception, but that's just to me! If you are comfortable in a ballgown, I say go for it!
