I have been in about 15 weddings and no bride ever give me a gift. So, I don't know if it's something new to gift BMs.

I'm still giving mine a little something to keep.

Shop for them like it's their birthday is exactly what you should do. That wasn't a joke. That is how I chose gifts for my bridesmaids. I got one a personalized Camelbak and headbands, one a nice clutch, and one a rack for hanging race medals. I gave my MOH some extra gifts separately because she did a ton of work for my bachelorette party and shower. If I was on a tighter budget I would have gotten them wine or Starbucks cards because I know they would have appreciated them.

Nope, you don't have to get them gifts. You also don't have to have any close friends after your wedding. The choice is yours.

Your bridal party is supposed to be your nearest and dearest, you are thanking them for taking time out of their busy lives to stand up with you on a special day.

However, since you seem cheap and your friends obviously know this, not giving them gifts seems entirely within your mien. You do you, it's your day.

Kathryn, like everyone else answering these ridiculous "it's my day I'll do it my way" post, cares because you asked. She cares because (from what I saw) she had a beautiful and well hosted wedding and wants to impart that knowledge of her well done wedding onto other brides who may, through lack of experience, be creating some serious faux pas that could really offend guests, friends, and relatives.

Sorry Kathryn, not trying to speak for you but this is so frustrating seeing good suggestions go to waste

It's very appreciated by them and shows them you appreciate them standing beside you.

Your right, I shouldn't. The fact you blatantly said you don't care about "pleasing" your guests means you are beyond help. God Bless yoru guests.

As I read through the comments I am wondering why did you bother to ask the question if you should get your bridesmaids something? It seems you've already have made up your mind not too. No matter what we say you are going to do things your way so why did you even ask SMH.

@Irmine, dont ask questions about the wedding

Why do OPs ask questions and then tell people not to worry about it? You asked!

Why are you asking for advice? Are you hoping that someone will say, "No, of course you don't have to buy thank-you gifts for your nearest and dearest who spent money and time to help you have a special wedding day." Because if that's your goal, you're barking up the wrong tree.

I'm not going to suggest that you post elsewhere for validation, only because it's against our community rules. But if you come here to WW and post asking for advice, then advice is what you're going to get- whether it's what you want to hear or not.

Ugh is this high school? It's her wedding and she's not buying everyone alcohol so what. One night of not drinking will not kill anyone. Been to plenty dry weddings or cash bar weddings and still had fun. This post isn't about alcohol but you all only seem to think about it. If you don't have anything to add to this post about bridesmaid gifts then move along.

You don't have to get them anything. You asked them a favor and they agreed without conditions. But it would be a nice gesture to get them something if you can afford it. You can get them all thank you cards and write a sweet message for them.

@Irmine I saw some on Amazon as well. It may be to late for you to order from Ali Express. Shipping takes awhile. I wouldn't put anything wedding related on them so they can wear them again.
