One can't HOST a cash bar because the word HOST implies you're doing something for me as a guest. Excuse me, your're HAVING a cash bar. Now that I see that you're HAVING a cash bar, I am not surprised that you didn't think you needed to give a gift to your bridal party.

It's a nice gesture to give them some type of gift and it doesn't have to be expensive. If you have someone who goes out to eat a lot a gift card to restaurant would be nice. If you have one who enjoys reading you could personalize the gift that way.

Proper hosting (some form of hosted bar that can be as simple as beer and wine): To thank your guest for coming and supporting your marriage and witnessing your ceremony. It IS about pleasing them

Ceremony: Nope thats all about pleasing yourself and FH. You get the ceremony... Guests get the reception.
