You could give them a monogrammed flask so they can sneak alcohol into your wedding.

Absolutely. Something touching but doesn't have to break the bank. Shop for them like you would their birthday. They will definitely appreciate it. Smiley smile

It's all starting to come together now thanks to the cash bar thread. Instead of "I'm not sure of the etiquette on this" it's really "I'm trying to save money wherever I can and doing a cash bar hasn't saved me enough. Do I really need to thank these women that put up with me throughout the planning process???? Do I *really*???"

Hahaha, like others, I too came back to see if you had responded. Now that I see you're hosting a cash bar...wait..that's not right. One can't HOST a cash bar because the word HOST implies you're doing something for me as a guest. Excuse me, your're HAVING a cash bar. Now that I see that you're HAVING a cash bar, I am not surprised that you didn't think you needed to give a gift to your bridal party.

Honestly since you arent hosting them at the reception- an envelope with cash for the bar is the most appropriate gift you can give them

It's a nice gesture to give them some type of gift and it doesn't have to be expensive. If you have someone who goes out to eat a lot a gift card to restaurant would be nice. If you have one who enjoys reading you could personalize the gift that way.

So what? You aren't properly hosting your guests with the cash bar. Now you are asking if you HAVE TO gift the people standing up for you. You really should reconsider if you even should invite anyone or have a wedding party. Sounds like you don't care about your friends or guests. Jeez.

    So what?

    Lets break this down:

BP gifts- to thank your nearest and dearest for standing by your side and supporting you and your relationship. It IS about pleasing them.

Proper hosting (some form of hosted bar that can be as simple as beer and wine): To thank your guest for coming and supporting your marriage and witnessing your ceremony. It IS about pleasing them

Ceremony: Nope thats all about pleasing yourself and FH. You get the ceremony... Guests get the reception.

    Got it?

    ETA: typo
