Do brides carry purses on their wedding day?

Nic, on October 29, 2015 at 8:47 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 32

What is everyone using to carry all their stuff in on the day of the wedding (if anything) ? I am thinking that I will want a small clutch or something to carry my phone, makeup for touch ups, wallet etc. But I don't want to be carrying it around all night or put someone in charge of it. I wish I could have a pocket sewn into my dress! Any suggestions??

My dress has pockets! But I'll probably only use them for tissues. I ordered myself a clutch, and I'm getting my BMs totes with their names on them as a gift and ordered one for myself. I'm thinking of leaving my clutch in the tote most of the night, or just leaving it on my table. Does your venue have a bridal suite? You could leave it in there, or stash it under your table before the reception starts. During the ceremony (at a church) I will just leave it in the limo.

If your venue has a bridal suite or a room for you to leave stuff in, you don't need a purse. I got a clutch and literally left it in the room all day. I could just as easily have used my regular giant purse or a tote bag. If there isn't anywhere for you to leave stuff, then just leave your clutch at your table. Nobody is going to mess with your stuff.

Even as a guest at weddings, I just leave my purse at my table all night while dancing.

I made my myself a clutch. It was nice to have a place for my touch up makeup, phone, etc. I left mine with my dj, so I knew it was in a safe space. But I know our dj really well, I have worked with him in the past as he dj's many events for my work. Do you have a vendor you can trust to watch it? Maybe a DOC?

I just put my regular purse in my mom's car. I didn't carry a clutch or anything with me. I didn't want to have to worry about where I left it.

My MOH needed a clutch so I told her she could use mine if she just held a few things for me. One of my DOCs had a cross body bag/emergency kit and she held my lip gloss, shoes, people's sunglasses, you name it lol.

@Sara - I am so jealous of your pockets!

Unfortunately I don't really know any of our vendors well enough to have them hold onto a bag for the night, nor do we have a bridal suite. Might end up just bringing a small bag and have someone hold onto it for me at the church and then leave it on the table at the reception? I am mostly worried about forgetting it, especially after a few drinks!

I had a cute little clutch but I also had a tote with some extras (like flats) that were in the bridal suite.

I didn't have anything. My MOH had my lipstick in her clutch which was the only touch up I wanted. And I didn't bring my cell phone because I didn't want to look at it at all. The people I loved were all around me. All my stuff was in my bridal suite. And even when we left my mom and MOHs took all my stuff. I literally had nothing. When we got to the bar I got carded which was annoying but they ended up serving me, thankfully!

I've been looking for a clutch to carry. My venue has a Bridal suite, but I upgraded to the larger "swanky" one and it's upstairs and not terribly convenient to where our reception will be so I don't want to be going back and forth (or sending anyone for me). I plan to get a small clutch to keep at my table for tissue, lipstick, touch up makeup, phone and my ID since we'll be formally exiting from the reception and be taken straight to our hotel. And I mean, let's be real, our exit will be photographed too, so I need something cute Smiley smile

I had stuff in a clutch but then also a big bag that held change of shoes, a different hair accessory, and some other stuff I can't think of. It all stayed on the limo during the ceremony and bridal suite during reception.

I don't plan to bring anything with me. I don't want to keep up with stuff when I'm going table to table, getting up to dance and what not. I don't need my wallet, I will have my MOH (little sister) keep up with my lip color or anything needed for touch ups with her and FH will carry my phone, although, I don't think I will need that either.

I had a clutch that I put my lipstick, phone, and some bobby pins in. We stayed at our venue, so I left it in our room during the ceremony and my MOH went up to get it once the BP was done with pictures during cocktail hour.

I bought a clutch because I thought it was cute but I don't think it's necessary since I have a bridal suite. Here's the one I got

I had a bridal suite at my venue. I had my normal purse and just left everything in there.

I had a clutch that stayed in the "get ready" room until after the ceremony and then my DOC moved it to my seat in the reception hall. It had my phone, tips for our vendors, and my lipstick for touch-ups. I think I opened it once the entire night.

I just used my regular purse. it was in the bridal room, and then went in the limo and too the reception with us... My aunt watched it at the reception for me, along with my veil.

I'll leave all my stuff in the bridal suite at the venue and let my mom or a bridesmaid be in charge of taking it home and returning it to me later. The only things I should have that day that I'll need when we leave is my phone and wallet and I'll turn that over to FH. I won't have pockets but he will!
