Do all brides cry when they find their wedding dress?

So I am second guessing the dress that I chose because I did NOT cry when I put it on. I think maybe I watched one too many episodes of ‘Say Yes To The Dress’ lol. I always cried with the brides on the show but didn’t when it was my turn. I love the dress I chose and I can’t wait to wear it but I...

I love the dress I chose and I can’t wait to wear it but I just can’t help but wonder why I didn’t have that emotional moment. Perhaps what I see on tv is not what really happens in real life?

No. Crying over an article of clothing is not necessary. I can understand crying at the thought of marrying your FH and the loving emotions behind that. But crying because of some satin, silk or lace? Nope. 😆

I'm the same way. I see the brides and their mom get so emotional and then when I went I didn't cry and neither did my mom but my dad did, but my dad is more emotional than my mom and I. It depends on what type of person you are. I absolutely love my dress and constantly am putting it on which I probably shouldn't cause ill probably hate myself if I ruin it.

My mom totally cried, but I didn’t. I just had a moment on the fitting room where I could see it all come together and knew that was THE dress. Afterwards I had second thoughts, but every time I put my dress back on I know it’s the right dress.

Nope didn't cry. I think I was too focused on seeing the dress on me, like the details, how it fits, the style, etc... Also all eyes were on me so I was definitely more nervous with all that attention haha. Although, every once in awhile, I do get emotional whenever I think about my FH seeing me in my dress. I know he'll love it and I'm super excited to see his reaction!

I didn't cry when I found my dress, though the stylist and my best friend/bridesmaid who were with me did. I tried my dress on twice before I finally said yes and I just couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror. I definitely had a rush of emotions when I was wearing it but everyone else's reactions definitely helped to solidify my decision and I have no regrets! I still get so excited about it when I look at the pictures we took!

I cried but really mainly because it was the full “this is actually happening moment” vs just that the dress was perfect! Don’t worry If you didn’t! And you will still have special moments when you do alterations and fittings too!

I didn't cry, but I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror. Everyone reacts differently.

I didn’t cry until I looked at a picture of myself with the veil and all. That’s when it hit me that I am getting married. But even though I cried after seeing a picture of myself, I do question my choice. My dress was everything I didn’t want(off the shoulder, ball gown, and heavy), but it was the most flattering and for me. One thing that’s helped me snap out of second guessing myself is putting it back in on to remind myself why you said yes to that dress.

I didn't. To be honest, I feel like this is a really odd thing to become a "thing." But that may be because I have never watched that show.

I don't mean that it's odd for some people to cry when they get emotional. But to me, it's extremely odd that crying over a dress has become an expectation, a milestone, and a way to judge whether or not a particular dress is "the one".

Some people are criers. Some aren't. None of that has anything to do whether one should buy a particular dress or worry that one made the wrong decision because one didn't cry.

Idk if crying over a icee of material is the underlying reason. For many it seems it’s because of their hopes and dreams of their wedding are coming to life, they’re excited & emotional about marrying their best friend or sharing the experience with someone close.

Honestly I didn't cry until my cousin started crying (and when they told me to take it off LMAO Smiley xd ) I just kept smiling and spinning and looking at it! It's hiding in my FMIL's house and almost every time we go over for dinner I sneak in the closet and unzip it so I can touch it again lol!! I'm just so excited to wear it!!

I didn't cry over mine, but I could not stop talking about it after the appointment and compared everything else I tried on to it. I will say it was moreso a feeling of just feeling like myself...like...I'd always worn that clothing...and I didn't want to take it off lol...although I do have a feeling that tears will flow when everything comes together lol

I did not cry either, but I was kinda in shock... like wow... I look like a bride and a princess at the same time..... I had a dress custom made... so first time i saw it was when i tried it on for the first time once it was shipped to me... even with some things that need to be fixed or altered, i still felt amazing in it!!! (Like WOW!! this is gonna really happen!!)

I didn’t and I’m second guessing mine too! I’m such a crier too. The ASPCA commercials with the sad music get me. I think it’s because for me it felt surreal and I have looked at hundreds of other dresses and don’t like any better. Trust your gut not your tears!
