Hello everyone! My FH and I are currently looking to hire a DJ for our big day! I was just curious for those of you who are hiring/hired a DJ, about what was the cost? Hello everyone! My FH and I are currently looking to hire a DJ for our big day! I was just curious for those of you who are hiring/hired a DJ, about what was the cost? I know this varies from state, city, etc., but I’m really curious. We have priced out a couple DJs and I’m pretty sure we found one we really liked, 8 hours for about $1200 including tax. I just wanted more insight on DJ pricing as we’ve never hired a DJ before so this is all new to me! Thank you in advance! 😊

In my area in MA it seems like the average for a standard package is 1500 for 5 hours, no add ons (uplighting and ceremony are add on charges)

We hired DJ Perry Angelozzi ... for $990 he's doing our reception + dinner music. We are using PSQ for ceremony + cocktail hour.

He came recommended to me from a college friend that used him for her wedding (I was not a guest there) .. and he provided contacts for many previous couples, all of who had great things to say.

I am in Orlando and we are getting prices from roughly $500 - $1700. You have to look specifically at what is included. One Dj provides a DJ and a separate MC and they want $1200, that covers just those services Nothing extra. Another one offers a DJ who also acts as the MC and they want $600 and that includes additional uplighting and a light show. If you wished to add photo booths into the mix the first company wants $700 and that includes a scrapbook, whereas the second company charges $400 and to add on a scrapbook would be $50. Basically we can afford the photo booth and DJ from the second company for $50 less than the original companies DJ/MC service. You have to shop around, call them, look on the internet, and compare prices then speak to them.

We just met our DJ last night and he owns the business and has 8 other Djs working for him that fits better with our style and his prices range from $600-$1600 for 6 hours and if we need the DJ linger we pay the DJ $100 per extra hour at the reception. And that is in Colorado Springs CO

A lot of our DJs were really expensive but we found a really good deal... 8 hours for $500. Originally it was 8 hours for like 700$ but we booked him on sale. I looked at reviews waiting for the foot to drop because all the other ones we were finding were $800 for 5 hours but all the reviews were stellar and he's been great with us ever since!

We're paying $600 for 6 hours, but we really had to research to find someone in that range. Most in this area, that we've seen and that market, began at $1200

    (we are in Denver)
