dj pricing?

Heather, on January 30, 2018 at 12:57 AM Posted in Planning 0 58
Hello everyone! My FH and I are currently looking to hire a DJ for our big day! I was just curious for those of you who are hiring/hired a DJ, about what was the cost? I know this varies from state, city, etc., but I’m really curious. We have priced out a couple DJs and I’m pretty sure we found one we really liked, 8 hours for about $1200 including tax. I just wanted more insight on DJ pricing as we’ve never hired a DJ before so this is all new to me! Thank you in advance! 😊

Ours is $565 for 6 hours, in southwest Missouri (a pretty low cost of living area). That was cheaper than I expected, but he has great reviews and seemed nice when we met with him, so hopefully it works out!

I haven't hired yet but the one I'm looking to hire is 895 for 5 hours. The one was I was thinking of hiring before this would have been in the same ball park, 795 for about the same.

Ours is 1350, including a travel charge because we are suburban. Wedding is north of Chicago. This is for 6 hours and includes a sizable discount for being off-season.

In VA, our DJ is $150/hr so for 5 hours we’re paying $750 before tax.

In NJ, we are paying $1200 before gratuity. That's a VERY reasonable rate.
