I would recommend doing a google image search to look for ideas. I'm either doing big blackboards or framed printed ones at the entrance. I personally don't see the point in printing it all out 1000 times for everyone to have one individually plus it will save money.

Get some nice cardstock or even resume paper and if you have a good printer - print from home. It's really easy to make them yourself.

Jena R's Sample email that lets you click on Vistaprint.com deals to get free items.

Ink cost money too. Just something to consider in the budget. Maybe do your programs on the 50 free rack cards from VP. you can do multi orders to get 100.

Also, you can put in 2 more orders of 50 free to get menu cards.

    50 free rack cards = $7.84

cost $3.00 for colored back side plus $4.84 for 21 day delivery

do a second order on the same day (for 50 more free ones) = $9.58

$3.00 plus 14 day delivery. They should (but don't quote me) put all 100 in the same box and deliver them within 14 days

(cost only a dollar more for 7 day delivery = $10.60

100 for $17.42 - 14 days (can't find a kit and printer ink for less than that)

    $18.50 for 7 day delivery

    so 100 programs, 100 menus, slow shipping = $31.36

If you are having a summer wedding, it is cute to print the program on a fan. If you can format this yourself on a computer (try one at the public library if you do not have a computer) then take your master on plain white paper, to an office store to be printed on card stock. It is cheaper to have them printed than to purchase the ink and print at home. Most at home printers will miss register card stock and you will waste more than you can save over taking your master copy to an office store.

At Buena Vista Farms, Inc. there are usually many left over programs. Not everyone will take one. I recommend that you print only 1/4 as many programs as the number of people invited.

For menus you could print one for each table, the same way. Make a master copy on plain white paper and take it to be copied onto card stock and cut (three to a sheet) at an office supply store.

    @ MrsRichardson2be

the purple one is one of their designs, I changed nothing, but that is the back of the card, so the front looks like this when you see it on line.

The black and white one.... I went to www.clker.com and searched the word "swirl" and found the fuchsia design to add some color

Click the "advance edit" then "add image"

Or, lets say you find one that is a solid color and you want to add an image, VP has their own library of images too that you can add. For example, if you like that heart on the purple one, I am pretty sure (not 100%) that you can find it by searching "heart" or "purple"

Heather, check with your officiant as to the order of the ceremony.

And wait as long as possible to print them -- in case there are any last minute changes in wedding party, etc.

I officiated a wedding on several days notice and the program had the name of the officiant who canceled on them instead of my name. No, I'm not Michael.

I recently did another wedding on one-day notice, but because the programs had not yet been printed, they were able to correct the officiant's name to mine.

If you can design your own program at home, copying them at an office store from your original might be a savings over printing at home yourself. Unless you have a very high quality printer, there could be slippage of the heavier stock paper resulting in waste.
