I personally think a lot of brides are overdoing it these days with the signs, but to each their own. We are doing a directional sign on the corner of the street leading into the church (because it is kind of confusing on where to go if you haven't been there before), a decorative welcome chalkboard sign, a small sign for the guest book table asking people to fill out their advice cards, and then small buffet cards to label the food and non-alcoholic beverages. I tried to only do one "just for fun" sign, which was the welcome sign that has our hashtag. The others I felt were necessary.

Oh, and I also did chalk board for some and printed the others. I found some awesome free fonts from pinterest and just used them in word. For the chalkboard, I used those same fonts and printed what I wanted to put on the signs. You just rub chalk on the back side of the papers, place them on the chalkboard, and outline the words with a pen or pencil. When you lift the page, light imprints of the outlines you traced will be left on the chalkboard and you can fill them in with a chalk marker or damp piece of chalk (that shows up better than using it dry).

I just made and printed hashtag signs and a specific-to-me cupcake sign and put them in non-matching frames I bought at A.C. Moore. I don't have a picture of the hashtag signs, but here is a close up of the cupcake sign and a picture of where it was placed.

I put one hashtag sign on the bar and the other on the gift/guestbook table and then moved it to the selfie station area once the reception started.

I used my Silhouette cutting machine and design software, lots of liquid chalk markers and my printer.

Monica, where did you get that welcome chalkboard at? I love it but can't remember where I saw it at!

Guest book and a few other signs I made by just printing the words using InDesign and a frame from the Dollar Store.

Banner signs are made of paper and twine! I just cut triangles out of paper and punched two holes in them.

I have this Boh sign (FH is a huge Ravens fan & loves Boh) & that will be placed at the beginning of the aisle. We have a few chalk board signs for signing guest book etc. We also have a window paine that will be placed at the beginning of the buffet with all the food listed on it (some with show ingredients for allergies) & the "I love you more than cupcakes" sign at our dessert table

We had two bar signs (one at each bar location), a hashtag sign, and a guest book sign. Here are pics!

Oh and heres the hashtag one.

I got the little chalkboards (which were frame-style so they stood on their own) in the target dollar section for $3 each. then just used paint pens.

@Kathryn - I found examples online that I liked, then drew on the boards with a pencil (obviously erasing an re-doing as necessary) then traced over the pencil with the paint pen. Once it dried a bit, I erased any visible pencil marks. My BMs helped me too! It worked well!

I'm having a "welcome to our wedding, please no photos and silence your cell phones". Both for privacy reasons and also to ensure out photographers and videographer get the best shots possible without a cellphone in most shots.

I'm also having a sign at the ceremony that invites guests to sit anywhere, pick a seat not a side we're all family once the knot is tied". I think guests sitting on the bride/groom's side is so extremely lame and old fashioned.

I browsed for ideas on pinterest (of course) but I am customizing what I saw and having a local print shop design and print them.

    That's it. Just two signs.

Maybe one more for the guest book which will be a custom made photo book with pictures of us over the years. I'm unsure about the sign because everybody "knows" to sign a guestbook : /

    Good luck!

I may do a chalkboard pick a seat not a side and a bar sign. I started wondering if it's worth the trouble.
