DIY Escort Card Help

Janessa, on April 14, 2013 at 10:09 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I have printed business cards from VP that I will use as escort cards. I'd rather not have the cards laying flat on the entrance table so I was thinking about making folded "tents" and mounting the business cards on them. I'm confused as to which type of paper would be best to make the folded tents. Bristol board? Card stock? What weight of paper would be best for this? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I think this sounds like a great idea, but I have no idea what type of paper to use. Card stock could work, because it's a thicker weight of paper, but is still fairly easy to fold... I'm interested to see if anyone has some different ideas!

I'm using cardstock, and so far, it seems to work well. Good luck!

Check out paper-source? They sell them already folded. Also vp had folded business cards.

    Use paper clips!!!!

These are called regal paper clips. Walmart or your local office supply should have them. Under $5 at Staples.

@Hayley- I saw a post of yours before suggesting those paper clips and for the life of me, I can't find them in Ottawa!

I'm going to look into the folded business cards vs the price of card stock and supplies to do it myself.

    Thanks ladies!

    Does Walmart ship?

or find them on amazon? anything else you wanted to buy? Not sure if that works. Might need to search "regal paper clip"

Hayley!! I have to go to Walmart in the States to buy some of my candy at the end of the month! I'll check there, thanks so much!

Btw-I did see them on amazon but they weren't available for shipping to Canada.

I think cardstock would probably be best...if you are having a plated dinner you will want the servers to be able to see what entree your guests have selected. Of course, the clips are cute too!

Am I silly for being worried about my guests dropping the paper clips on the way to their tables? I need the escort cards to stand up since the servers will use them to know what to serve each person.

Thanks ladies but I'm also doing place cards at the seats that are attached to the favours. Plus, I don't have meal options that I need to indicate. But I understand your worries about guests losing their clips or not standing them up at their tables.

I did the regal clips too and they are tight against the paper, I wouldn't worry about them droppping it!

I'm glad you came to a decision! All the little details really add up!

And, thanks Jenn J - I might consider using them now! VistaPrint has my invitation suite in a flat business card, but not folded, and I really wanted to try to tie my theme together since I'm also using the invitation suite for programs and menus.
