DIY Aisle Decor

icepanda, on September 8, 2015 at 11:29 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hello all! I'm getting married October 11 (agh coming up so soon!). Most of the details are finalized, but my fiance and I were going over our florist contract and realized that flowers for the ceremony aisle (like in the picture) are beautiful but really add up cost-wise. I was thinking to maybe do some DIY decoration instead, maybe with ribbon. Has anyone done anything like this? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

What about renting shepherds hooks with mason jars and putting baby's breath in it? Maybe tie a ribbon around in one of your wedding colors...

Or even just tying the baby's breath in bundles onto the chair? Like the picture....

I have an October wedding too. Our ceremony will be outside (weather permitting), and I made my own seat markers/asile decor.

I caught a sale on floral at Jo-Ann Fabrics. I got a bunch of the large fall leaves, the berries, and gold ribbon. Also floral tape to hold it together before the ribbon.

Simple and it cost about $25 total

These are great ideas! Our colors are pretty neutral but I'll definitely check out Jo Ann and see what they have.

Also, where can you buy baby's breath?

You can buy fake baby's breath on Afloral.com but you can buy it fresh from almost any grocery store that has a small floral department. You can also ask the floral department of they can order you a few bundles. It's super cheap.

If I were you and had those flowers bundled up, I'd reuse them for centerpieces by making my bridesmaids collects them to put in the table vases, it's like a two for one kind of deal. Good luck!

I did DIY tissue paper pom poms for my aisle decor. They were really easy to make. I hung them on shepherd's hooks from the dollar store. And lined the aisle with flower petals.
