what to do about ceremony music!!?

Kat, on March 13, 2012 at 8:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

FH and I are having an outdoor ceremony at a gazebo we booked via wedding chapel. So there is no electricity. I tried to book live music, didn't work. SO i am left to resort to making a playlist with an Ipod. I don't know what music to pick, im frustrated, i don't know what to pick! and since our ceremony has to be so quick part of me doesn't want it it all!! any suggestions?

What type of live music have you looked into? If you would still like to go the live music route I'm sure the WW gals can help search for something that works for ya!

If you want to go the ipod route, will you have speakers? Did you want to go classical/traditional music or did you want to do modern songs?

Look up Jon Shmidt/ Piano guys its clasical meets modern and I think perfect for ceremony music you can buy and listen to his tracks on his site they vary in price but always under $1 if you dont want a whole album. He's my new obsesion for my wedding this is my current favorite

Are you set on not looking for anymore live music? We are having an acoustic guitarist. Can I ask just because I curious Smiley tongue why does your ceremony "have" to be so quick? we are using lost in this moment for the recession and just having him play mellow music before the ceremony starts.

Our ceremony has to be quick, because as i previously stated, someone has it booked right after we do...that's just how it is, thats how the ceremony venue runs things and i knew that when i booked it. I never paid to much attention to music. I'm thinking ( if i have music at all) modern songs done acoustically, piano, or by violin. I will have speakers available as well. I'm just so irritated with the whole thing and with how quick things will be moving honestly im not sure if anyone will miss it anyway...just dont know what to do :/ i am not looking for any more live music either

How about passing out kazoos....then everyone can hum the bridal march for you?

Just kidding! I think the only place anyone will miss music is when you walk down the aisle. If you really want to omit music, go for it. I advise, though, at least having something to play while you walk down the aisle.

I'm a fan of anything instrumental.

Meaning...it can be played from an iPod...I just prefer music without words for wedding ceremonies.

I was wondering the same as well, Courtney.

I wouldn't skip music. I know it's overwhelming with the choices out there but I think now that you have narrowed it down to modern but acoustic, it should be easier. I haven't listened to much but I know a lot of people rave about Vitamin String Quartet.

And Rachel-I think I love you! lol I have never heard of Jon Schmidt but am hooked now! His stuff will definitely be incorporated into the prelude music!!!! Thanks!!!!!!

Consider just hiring a vocalist and pianist. Since, the ceremony has to move quick, that is the easiest way. Just write down a few songs that you'd like in your ceremony and hire a vocalist and pianist. You can also have the same pianist play at your cocktail hour! There are so many options! If you are having a hard time with this, you can contact Zelle Bridal Experience, we offer all these services at some great rates and we'd be very happy to help!

    Good Luck!

P.S. People LOVE quick ceremonies, although it's the most sentimental part, your guests are really looking forward to the reception!
