What has been the worst and best part about your wedding planning?

Mayra <3, on March 9, 2015 at 4:37 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 40

Best part for me: Probably finding a dress that I completely love and didn't think I would've been able to wear. Also losing weight and feeling great in it.

Worst part: The planning lol. I guess the mood that it puts me on at times, having to deal with it all on my own, it causes FH and I to argue and stuff. Mostly because I complain about everything I have to do lol. Its not fun anymore, can't wait til its over! He helps with what ever I need him to and is good about helping make decisions and attending appointments, but still, he doesn't get it lol.

Best: I learned to do crafts lol... I'm making my own centrepieces with kusudama flowers, and made the groosmen's cufflinks too. I had no idea I could be creative, so this has been fun.

Worst: Probably the stress. I'm also feeling more and more anxious at people - BMs and GMs that won't help, guests that won't RSVP, future IL's looking down on my hometown, family or customs. If I weren't planning this wedding, I would still be very fond of all these people, lol

Best: FH and I have agreed on everything so far. It's super weird. I picked out the readings I'd like from a booklet (it has about 4 options for every part) and wrote it down on a piece of paper so I wouldn't sway FH's opinion. He ended up picking he same exact ones that I did!

Worst: Finding time to meet vendors and figuring out who will be invited.... Too much drama with things like distant relatives not wanting to come if their children aren't invited.

Best - Cake tasting (which was over a year ago at this point) because I literally tasted the best cake ever and can't wait to have it at my wedding!

Worst - Dealing with vendors. They are all super nice and accommodating until they get that first payment. Ugh.

Best: Getting to plan... Planning is something I really enjoy doing. Making lists, checking them off, making more lists.... I wish I was being sarcastic. :/

Worst: Dealing with my mother. I love her dearly, but she and I annoy the ever loving crap out of each other, so planning a wedding with her involved in any way has been a real challenge.

Money is the worst part. I'm not really a planner so I wish I could afford to have someone plan everything for me.

Best part is thinking about the awesome party we're having with our friends and family.

Best: Being able to plan and execute a wedding that is so totally "us." OKay.... more "me" but that's because FH's response to all of my questions about his opinion has been.."I trust your vision- whatever you want!" I can't WAIT to see it all come together.

Worst: Dealing with the guest list. There is no way to avoid the drama.

Best: The planning - I love planning and organizing things so this was one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

Worst: Dealing with people and their opinions. What? You're not paying? I don't want to hear it.

Best: Dreams coming true Smiley smile Sounds cheesy, but I have been dreaming about/visualizing/planning my wedding in my head since before I even met my fiance lol. It is so exciting to see everything I've ever wanted coming to reality!

Worst: the stress. I already have a very taxing job and then stressing about minute details on top of that.... not fun

    Best- food tasting nomnomnom

Worst- flowers. I hate flowers. Or, at least, I hate how much flowers cost.

    Best: Dress shopping for me!

Worst: Printing out our invites. I had a complete freak out because our printer wasn't working. We got it fixed, but now with 25 invites left it has started acting up again. I don't have very many extra to waste trying to sort it out.

I could def say money would be the worst part, but i'm chosing not too. I know that although its a ton of money, our savings acct just keeps getting lower and LOWER, I know this is what I wanted. I'm having the wedding I want, everyone says it will be worth it in the end!

I love the planning, and especially, having control! lol! I hate the money it's costing, even though I've been scoring some great deals. I fear that people will judge it though, and think it's cheap.

Best: all the personal touches that will be in the wedding due to my love of crafting

Worst: getting to that point in crafting that you have to remind yourself that it'll be worth it and you wonder if it's possible to bludgeon yourself to death with a crepe paper flower.... jk, sort of Smiley winking

Best- all of it. Might sound cheesy, but I never saw myself meeting someone I'd want to marry, let alone planning a wedding!

    Worst- the money

Best part - my FH is very helpful and involved in all of the planning. He even put together a CAD design of the tables for the reception (attached - but without the runners and napkins) and gives great feedback.

Worst - 1. thinking that I had a great budget to work with and being shocked with prices of things; 2. Having to do a B list for invitations bc of max capacity and big families, and still not knowing if we can invite people that we'd really like to have there.
