I absolutly LOVE that box.... I dont think we are doing anything reception wise except a dinner with the BM, MOH and her kids... We may have a pool tournament when we get back to Bakersfield... maybe then we would get cards... but who knows...

Ours was pretty basic. We didn't want the cost of the card box to be greater than the value of what was in it. ;-)

I don't know yet. Cute box, Bella! I think Danielle just used one exactly like it in her wedding. Smiley smile

What is a card box used for? I am not stupid, I just have never seen or heard of one, so I am just educating myself. From the sound of the name it's safe to say it's a box for cards, but why do people bring cards to a wedding?

I was just going to let people put them on the gift table. Is that tacky?

Ahh, this last post just answered my question. Cards with checks in them.

@Cantwaittobemrs, I would have someone in charge of the cards, bc I think leaving them on a table makes it easier to misplace one or two etc..

We're using an old rural mailbox. My sister/MOH is covering it with faux bois contact paper to make it blend in with our rustic theme. We got the mailbox for free from craigslist - so just the cost of the contact paper ($1 - Dollar Tree!) and ribbons that we already have (how much do I love that BB&B's ribbons on the registry gifts I've already received are in our color scheme!?!?).

@cantwaittobemrs and Gillian: I think the best reason to have a cardbox is to prevent theft. You wouldn't think people would be stealing at a wedding... but if you have the reception someplace where the public can walk in and out of, then it's possible that cards could be stolen (and some people put cash, not checks in them!).

@ Danielle, I love your idea of using a rural mailbox. I haven't seen anything like that, and it fits your theme perfectly.
