Talk about your Venue!

Koch Bride, on January 10, 2014 at 9:46 AM Posted in Planning 0 48

Why did you choose your venue? What did you love about it?

We're getting married at The College of Physicians in Philadelphia. Its a historic building (100 years old) and has a ton of charm. It also has a museum of medical oddities that will be open to guests during cocktail hour which just makes me laugh. I also live less than 5 blocks from my venue so I'm able to pop in quite a bit which makes things very simple!

Attached are pictures of the ceremony room, the veranda (where hopefully we'll have an outdoor cocktail hour) and a pic of the museum. Yes that is a trophy case of skulls.

Hotel ballroom - it was the only option in my tiny hometown for a late November wedding. Our ceremony was at my family's church.

Your venue is great. Love historic!

    Cool venue!

We chose ours b/c it is very close to our house, everyone gives the food and service rave reviews, it's a gorgeous ballroom inside, includes lots of extras that we'd have to pay separately for at other venues, there is a hotel directly across the street and within walking distance to many bars for an after party. It just sorta worked out perfectly after looking at a handful of other venues, we both love it!

Pics of the entire ballroom, set up for ceremony (which is the same room) and the cocktail hour room.

Mine is definitely not as grand as everyone else's, but it is simple and I love it. We are having our ceremony outside by a lake! It has a lot of space and it very pretty in the springtime. Our reception will be in a building at the fairgrounds about 5 minutes away. There is a hotel down the street from the reception so it is the best place for our guests! Here are some pictures!

Both of those venues are amazing! I'm kind of jealous.

We picked our venue because it was very elegant with a modern feel to it. I searched a ton of venues and none of them compared to this one. The food had rave reviews and the biggest selection of any venue we went to. Plus everything is made from scratch for each party, nothing is frozen. The venue is about ten minutes away from JFK with complimentary shuttle services from the airport to the hotels and from the hotel to the venue which is going to be amazing for all of our out of state guests. Plus we will be taking party bus into the city afterwards. Oh and because of the free wedding planner they threw in there with our contract haha.

I love my venue! Its at a brewery/restaurant where me and FH hang out and really just lay back and always have a good time. It is also one of the most rustic locations I know of for a wedding, and it's just a fun environment. Oh plus their food is amazeballs! (These pics are from other weddings there)

Wow these are gorgeous venues ladies! We got married at a local restaurant. Originally we had planned on a small wedding of 75 people and that’s why we went with the place. We ended up having 152 and were the biggest or almost the biggest wedding they had ever had, they were a little mad at me. Loved it!

I loved the old South feel of our venue. It's also historic. Very quaint, cozy, cute, pretty, etc.

They have gorgeous gardens in the back, and a pretty lawn in the front. These aren't the BEST pictures, but here we go:

My wedding is venue is at the Berkeley Hills Country Club, about 20 mins from where we live. We chose this venue because they offered us an awesome wedding package which included a DOC, and they were flexible with making payments and deposits. Also it was a peferred vendor on WW.

We wanted a place with its own catering and alcohol options where we could have the ceremony outdoors. Our venue is a 1891 mansion featuring Romanesque architecture. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's in Joliet and not in Chicago (where we live). However, it's less expensive because it's not downtown.

We knew we were going to have a big reception so I picked our venue because of space. We chose a local Hall. I also wanted to be able to bring in our own food. The hall was still decorated for the holidays so that gave us a break on not having to do any decorating other than the tables.

Ours was the 1st venue we looked at! We had driven past the vineyard, many times...said we had to check it out at some point. Hadn't even set the date, but decided to look one day and it was love at first sight! So we set the date!

What cinched it? The grounds are amazing, with vines everywhere. Tables made from wine barrels. Outdoor fireplace. Amazing views. Rustic. In & Outdoor facilities. Water trough men's urinal! LOL Seriously rustic and amazing...just US. And only $1000 from 10 a.m. to midnight...closed to the public!

These are other weddings...I have MUCH more glamming up planned!

We're checking this one out next weekend so I'm hoping it's just as nice in person. But these are the pictures of it!

We love the outdoors and are getting married by the St. Vrain River in Estes Park, CO; it's a beautiful venue. Our reception is at the same site but inside with a wraparound deck with views of the river and Mt. Copeland.
