I got my dress at Davids in September. I'm completely disproportionate and none of the samples fit so they measured me for the size to order. I wear a size 10 and in DB bridesmaid dresses a 14. The lady measured me at a 22 and i said woah try that again. She measured me again at an 18. She only...

I got my dress at Davids in September. I'm completely disproportionate and none of the samples fit so they measured me for the size to order. I wear a size 10 and in DB bridesmaid dresses a 14.

The lady measured me at a 22 and i said woah try that again. She measured me again at an 18. She only measured the bust but said that was all that mattered. Maybe my fault but i believed i should trust her. Fast forward to the dress coming in in December and they sent the wrong dress. They then resent it which came in in March. I pick it up and it literally falls to the floor on me. I called both stores and they both said that she shouldn't have ordered me a dress that big and instead should have brought alterations in and discussed the best scenarios because of my measurements. Alterations on this dress will be roughly $600. It's a slim fit and flare and looks like a ball gown right now.

The store has presented me with 4 options. cont

Option #3 and I agree - our 12 week bridal dresses all came within 4 weeks MAX.

oops - guess it would help if I read the update. I love the new dress so much more than the old dress!!! I think this may be a blessing in disguise. It looks great.

Option 3 sounds like your best bet. Good luck! I'm on of the few who had a great experience with DB.

A word of warning. We ordered our bridesmaid dresses from David's bridal, and some of them came in much quicker than expected. But there was one color that must be in higher demand, and it's pushed a month later than we were told. The lady said it's all based on who's in line for the dress, and if they have to make more or what's already available.

Edit: didn't see your update until after I posted. The new dress is absolutely beautiful. I like it better than the old. Glad it worked out for you!

There is actually 4 weeks from the anticipated arrival time until my alterations appointment so i felt pretty good about it. Now the bridesmaid dresses are another story!
