So for those guests that do not get the RSVP in on time. Our venue coordinator suggested to sent a "regret card".
He just told us to send a card (or postcard) in the mail (the day after the RSVPs were due) saying the following:
“We regret you are unable to attend our wedding, you’ll be with us in our thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely/Love,
X & X”
If those that didn't RSVP call to tell you there was an error (they forget to RSVP or maybe their RSVP didn't go through online/got lost in the mail), then you can add them to their list or what not. Our venue coordinator told us that sometimes people don't like to RSVP because they feel bad about saying "no". That way the regret card gets them "off the hook" from feeling bad and you don't have to seem like you are hounding them down. He also said it's a good way to help keep numbers lower (if that's what you want).
What do you all think about this?
