Reception Table Names? What's yours?

The O-fficial MrsJoseph!, on June 24, 2010 at 2:19 PM Posted in Planning 0 41

I am feeling pretty wedding burned out. The wedding fairy has run out of twinkling glitter. I thought that in order to encourge myself I would start my seating arrangements so I could at least have a head start as people start to RSVP.

As I sit here I realize that I have NO CLUE what to name my tables. Give me some examples of what you named your tables!

We did a pretty font number, and then the number spelled out in Tagalog underneath it. They came out pretty, but simple.

When I was married the first time all my tables were named after city's in Scotland. At the card table there was a big map of Scotland so everyone could see "where" they were sitting. The whole wedding was very scottish bc my dad was born and raised there so I really wanted my heritage to be a part of the wedding. This time around I think I am just going to go with the regular old numbers bc there really is no theme. You could do your favorite places or I have seen fall brides do names of trees.

They are from Photoshop. I think it was one of the standard brushes. We used the same ones on the numbers.

We haven't decided yet, but we're thinking either major cities in the world or musicians that go with out theme.. (you know, the theme that hasn't been picked yet). Either way it should be fun!

We're just doing places and things that are meaningful to us. Where we met, our first date, our dog's name, etc.

Our tables will be named after songs that have the word love in the title...................

and throughout the night, as the dj is playing his music, when the song from the table plays we will encourage everyone from that table to get up to the dance floor and dance ..............

We will make sure the dj plays each song throughout the night......

Figured it would be a great way to get people up and dancing

We're using cities and places in the state where the wedding will be, which most of the guests have never been to so they get to learn a little geography during dinner.

FS and I actually talked about this last night. He was like, 'what - you have to name the tables?' I said you didn't have to but it might be a fun detail and easy/cheap to do but we can't think of anything at the moment that we can do.

We're scuba divers so we're doing the names of places and sites we've gone diving. I've also seen tropical islands (the couple has either been or is going to go on their honeymoon), names of wineries (the couple was big into wine), and table numbers with pictures of the bride and groom at that particular age.
