Opinions please! Rehearsal Dinner Dress! Help me decide what to do!

Maui Bride, on January 26, 2011 at 11:53 AM Posted in Planning 0 37

Hey ladies!

I've been going back and forth on what kind of a dress I want to wear for our rehearsal dinner. One thing for sure, I know I want a white dress since my wedding dress is blush. I originally wanted something short and form fitting (like pic #1) but FH and I are now going to do a TTD shoot the day after the rehearsal dinner and the day before the wedding (R Dinner Thurs, TTD Fri, Wedding Sat) so I'd like to wear the dress for the rehearsal dinner then again for our TTD shoots so I think dress #2 would be better. Thoughts? I'll include some other possibles!

All are Nordstrom except #2 which is J Crew! I know I LOVE #1 but I think it may be too heavy for Hawaii weather?? Ekkk I don't know what to do!

Dress #4 would be great but #2 maybe more practical for the TTD shoot. Dress #1 is very uncomfortable to move around in. Sad too cause itis beyond beautiful.

@Miss Me: try Nordstrom & JCrew.

I LOOOVE #1, but I do agree that, if you want something more "bridal" looking, #2 is the way to go for the TTD.

The other thing you could do is just get a cheap white maxi dress, like a beach cover up, if you're going to be in water... it'll look the same , wet, either way Smiley smile

We will be taking pictures around town too before getting wet, we are not taking E Pics (Tear...sniff...long story) so I definitely want some E Picish looking pictures before getting wet. Anybody know of a cheaper dress similar to #2? So I could have the best of both worlds maybe!?!?!?

I really like #1! But maybe not the smartest choice for the trash the dress session. Sigh!

I'm sure you can find something similar to the 2nd dress for cheaper if you did a little research...

I think it really depends what you want your photos to turn out like. Do you have any examples?

If you want formal, city photos, go with something form fitting like #1. They will be classy. But, it will look strange in water.

If you want romanic, more classicly TTD photos in water, co with #2, the draping will look amazing in the water. I would also think that it would look great blowing in a breeze on the beach, etc. For an island wedding, that's what I would go with, hands down.

    For a TTD shoot, I live #2.

But you can't have #5- I've now decided I want it!

Analy you summed my feelings up perfectly... the problem is I want both formal/classy pics and beautiful blowing in the breeze beach! I need to make a decision one way or the other.

    Thanks guys for the feedback!

@Meghan - isn't it to die for beautiful? I love the neckline! You should get it so at least one of us has it!!!
