opinions on bridesmaid dress *pic included*

Lisa, on April 16, 2014 at 2:17 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 27

I am starting to shop around online to get ideas on bridesmaid dresses. I need to find something that fits different body shapes and will look good on any of the girls, since I want everyone in the same dress. What do you think of this dress?

Lovely!! Nice draping, but how long is the slit in front? That might make some feel a little exposed?

I think that's really pretty. I can see it fitting all types of bodies.

I agree that the slit might make some of your bridesmaids a little uncomfortable.

A lot of one shoulder stuff makes me look lopsided. Maybe it's because I have big boobs...but they just look weird on me. So if you have any extra large chested girls in your party I don't think this dress will work.

This is the dress I wore in my sister's wedding last year. It's a Bari Jay and it looked good on all 6 of her bridemaids. One girl was a size 00, another was extremely petite and not even 5 feet tall. Another girl was nearly 6 feet. We had size ranges of 00 up to size 16 and everyone looked beautiful! I had my dress altered to have spaghetti straps so I could have more support.

It's very pretty, but I agree about the slit. Try looking on Weddington Way. I had a showroom and invited all of my BMs to the site. All of them were able to add any dress that they wanted and leave comments. It was a great way to see what everyone liked and didn't like.

Edit: I am also making my BM wear the same dress. I made them try on a ton of dresses because my girls are all different sizes. This is what we chose. I also love Lauren's dress that she posted!

I'm not a fan of the slit, either. It's just not practical, especially if you have an outdoor wedding. Your photos are going to be the Parade of Panties if there's a gust of wind.

I like the dress Lauren posted, and I'd give them the option of adding straps for support.

The dress is beautiful. If the girls are all comfortable with it, then seriously go with it!

Kristenann - what is the designer/style of the one you posted? I love that one as well!!

I am not a fan of the sleeve thing going on. Also I agree with the slit comments.

It's pretty and flowy but I don't know about that slit! It looks like it can go pretty high haha. Mine are wearing a one shoulder alfred angelo and they all loved it when they put it on. Very Grecian and flowy. Here it is but it will be in grape/eggplant purple.

It looks like it could be the type of fabric that clings to curves. I'm also not a huge fan of the sleeve.

I actually love the split, but then I almost bought a wedding dress with a split. However I agree, not everyone feels the same way.

The slit is easily fixed for anyone who doesn't like it. Nice color choice.

I tried that dress on, and it was actually my favorite of the non-silk ones at David's bridal. The slit only goes up to the knee, so it did not super high. I think the dress looks better on than in does in that picture. I definitely agree that it will fit a variety of body types. I ultimately didn't pick it for the wedding I was in because I hate one shoulder dresses, but as long as everyone is ok with those...

My bm are wearing this dress in petal pink. I have a girl who is a size 28 down to size 9 and it hides the belly and makes them all look nice and elegant. oops sorry its bill levkoff 779
