One week officially and still no return call from the reception venue.

Krystal, on May 4, 2010 at 6:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 16

Should I just give up on this reception venue? I called again and I just got the voicemail again. FH says I should just call nonstop til they pick up but I dont want to be annoying.

If they are not returning your phone calls I would start looking at other venues!

Is the venue somwhere you can easily visit again? Stop by. If an in person visit doesn't fix things, then move on.

Its about 45 minutes away from here and 45 minutes away from pittsburgh (Which is why we wanted it so both of our families had to drive the same distance and noone could complain)

If you've already paid for the venue then its your duty as a concerned bride to annoyingly call them repeatedly. They are supposed to be a professional business. If you have to turn into bridezilla and cuss someone out because you're angry then do what you have to do to get your venue. Especially if your wedding is in one week, its going to be hell trying to find another venue with practically no time left! But if they don't want your business then to hell with them, move on.

Definitely look at other places, because the way you need to look at it is...they haven't answered calls to even GET your business. Say you give them your money and business, who's to say that they won't give you the same treatment then?

If you can't get ahold of them now, imagine how hard it will be when your wedding comes around!

But then I sometimes have the same issue with brides. They send me an inquiry, I respond, and then a week, or two weeks later I hear from them again. I do everything I can to not write them every day to see what's going on. If they received my information, if they're even slightly interested.

I know this is a little different, but there might be a very good reason that they haven't called you back. I would start looking elsewhere though. Good luck!

Are you still trying to Book this venue or have you already Booked them? if you're still trying to Book them- get off this computer right now and go find someplace else. At the very least go drvie to them to get an answer.

If you've already booked them and need info, then you need to make a drive to see everything is ok.

I called again today and there was no reply again, and I'm looking to find out their prices and possibly book them. Ive been looking for venues online and there's a local DJ that put them on their featured vendors so I contacted the DJ asking if the number changed or not because I can't get ahold of them. but I'm keeping an open mind and looking for other vendors at the same time - everything just seems so expensive around here, the one venue wanted 7000 just to rent it!!

7,000.00 or $700.00? $700.00 is a Delicious rate around these parts! does that include tables and chairs? Girl if you haven't booked a space you need to get ON it. no offense.

If the tables and chairs are included and you like it book it. unless the other place is free, what have you got to loose?

No it was 7000. My mom is under the impression she has to pay for everything when she doesn't and won't pay a penny above 500 for a hall if she's going to help out. and I think that 7000 is outrageous just to rent the place so Im against it

Yeah, I would give up on them. Like others have said, if they can't get back to you now, how are they going to treat you if you do book them?

That's been my theory with some of the vendors I booked. The ones that didn't get back to me in a suitable amount of time just got axed from the get go

My venue had the same problem. They did not even show up the first time I made an appointment to tour the place. SO MAD!!! But I just knew I was going to fall in love with it when I saw it. And I did. They also never answered the phone and never returned phone calls or e-mail. It was a big pain. But the place was beautiful and I put up with their BS. So you have to ask yourself if you think the venue is worth it.
