OK, let's see...my bday is March 7th. My friends took me out to celebrate at a club (I LOVE DANCING!). One of the girls I was with had met John there before & told him to ask me to dance. I don't leave the dance floor much so he had to come out there & ask- I said yes. Whenever we went dancing, we would go out to breakfast afterwards. They asked him to join us. When we got there I suddenly couldn't even read the menu & felt like I was going to pass out! I went out to my car & passed out. Don't remember anything after that. He had left his phone # with my friends though.  I'm not a big drinker,but that has NEVER happened to me before! I called him the next day to apologize- he only came there to get to know ME better! He asked me out on an official date that night, we talked every night for hours. We lived in neighboring counties & we both had kids so we couldn't go out immediately. After two weeks of long phone conversations we finally got to go out! I still say that someone slipped something in my drink cuz I have never felt like that! He still laughs at me about it cuz he thinks I was just drunk--SO NOT!! :) Anyhoo, we were inseperable from that point on (by phone or in person!) The only man my children ever had in their life was thier dad so I was hesitant about introducing them! We started coming to his house so my kids could play with his son! LOL! His son is only 6 months younger than my youngest daughter. They were only 2 when we started dating (now they're 9!) We slowly went from kids playmates to boyfriend/girlfriend. After a couple of yrs, he asked the kids-( not me!) if they wanted to move in. They of course went crazy & said yes! We have been living as a family ever since. His son's mom died when he was only 6 months old, so I've basically been the only mom he's ever known. We both knew that we would be together forever. He's never been the kind to worry much about getting married. Not that he was against it, he just felt like the only difference would be some 'paperwork'. The kids have been asking him for a few yrs when he was going to propose & I secretly wondered the same thing!. I never mentioned to him that I would marry him if he asked (he will give me anything I want or ask for). I really wanted him to ask (if he was EVER going to) because HE wanted to marry me - not cuz he thought I wanted to! So... my bday was on a Saturday & our anniversary was the next day this yr. He took me out that Friday to celebrate. We were 'childless' that night so when we got home we got settled in to watch a movie & next thing you know- he popped the question. I couldn't even see the ring for awhile cuz  my eyes were completely full of tears! SO TOTALLY NOT EXPECTING IT!! After the initial shock, I sent  my kids a text message with a pic of the ring. They freaked out & sent one back asking if he proposed. I said yes, & we have been wedding obssessed ever since!!
