I thought I'd give another update about my job that everyone here found out about right after I landed it :-)

.

This morning, I walked into work at 10am slightly still asleep, LOL. The owner was there and I was working on prep, green peppers to be exact! He walks passed me and says, "Keep up the awesome work, Amber. You'll see a raise on your next check." I was kind of like "Huh?", but I smiled and said, "Thank you sir, I will." & then my manager called me into the office and I was thinking "Oh hell, what have I done?" LOL. And she just told me I was doing great and what not and told me there would for sure be a riase on my next check.

They didn't tell me how much, but I am thinking a quarter is normal. So maybe a quarter? But after just 5 weeks, I get a riase!!! There have been girls complain that have been there for a year that haven't gotten a raise yet and are still making min. wage. I haven't said nothing to no one, and I don't intend on it. But I am super excited!!

    His is going.. he doesn't like it much. Right now he is off til 8/3 because he got injured Smiley sad We go back to the doc 8/3 to find out if he can go back to work on 8/4, he strained his left chest muscle.

    You know, I still haven't eatten their pickles. LMAO. And soo many ladies here was saying to eat their pickles. Start 8/1 I am restricting myself to a Salad w/ tea for lunch... gotta lose some weight before the big day. I fear going to try on my dress :-(

    Great Kali. I just would not metion the raise. Ain't nobody business what you make. Even if they are doing the same job.

    Ohh, I definitely ain't mentioning the raise because just last weekend a co-worker, she's only 18, said that she was upset because another co-worker, she's 19, slipped & said how much she made and it was more then what the 18 y.o. makes. I was talking to her and telling her that it didn't really make sense since 18 y.o. has been there since she was 15. And 19 y.o. has only been there since a few months ago, but then she told me who it was and I was like, "Ohhh, she has worked for Subway before. I am pretty sure that if you have experience you'll make more." But I didn't pick a side, I just said that experience does matter. And the 18 y.o. said, "Well thats b.s. I've been here 3 years and I still make min. wage." I didn't say anything then & I surely ain't mentioning nothing now. LOL. I get more hours then everyone anyways because I come in on time, I don't ask off, I don't call in. I work over time, I come in early, and I pick up shifts if needed. I'd think that would set an example

    But these girls are pretty immature and don't really want to "work" to earn their money like I do. I am 24, play time is over for me.. I am getting married, will be starting a family, etc. I can't just sit around and chit chat and chance losing my job, even if it is just a sandwich maker job at Subway. Besides, I really do love my job.

    Great job, Kali! Congrats on the raise! I truly see good things for your future!

    Now, as for only eating salad to loose weight...that all depends on what is on the salad.....do not cut calories too low, you will sabotage yourself. Simply cut extra sugars, heavy carbs and too many fatty foods.

    @ Kathy, I am not limiting myself to just Salad that entire time. I am just replacing my current 6" sub that I eat on my lunch break w/ a salad instead to eliminate that bread :-)
