NWR So this happened on the first day of my new commute UPDATED in Comments

Butterflyfinder, on June 2, 2015 at 7:19 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

So since I moved I now take the bus to work four days a week. Day 1 on the bus yesterday ended with the police and an ambulance.

So apparently there is a bus drunk. He comes to the back of the bus to use the restroom. My coworker is seated right next to restroom. He moves his belongs and his feet to let the drunk into the restroom. Somehow he still manages to step on his foot. He comes out and says I apologize for stepping on your foot but not because you're an asshole. This resulted in WTF looks from me, my coworker and several other regular passengers. The drunk was put on "a list" by said passengers. FFW to time to exit the bus. I pass the drunk with my coworker behind me. The coworker attempts to pass and is body slammed by the drunk. Coworker tells drunk let's take it outside. Drunk starts pointing fingers and then takes a swing at coworker. Coworker lands two blows and the drunk falls flat. He attempts to get up but continues to stumble and fall.

Cops are called and they take reports for all witnesses. Drunks wife shows up to pick him up and wants to know what happened. The drunk is taken away by the ambulance.

Let's see what happens this evening....

This is true. I told the regulars this morning that they set the bar high for my level of expectation. Lol. It was just a little crazy though.

Yeah that is crazy. FH hasn't come home with any stories quite like that. He did tell me the other day this woman was trying to find out when a certain bus was coming and when the driver said she missed it she screamed "NOOOO!!!" Like she was in some sort of dramatic movie lol

Lol. That's funny. Yeah you always have to have a backup plan. Just in case.

Hahaha. Wow. There must always be a drunk regular. When I was 16 and a senior in high school, I interned at a law firm in the large city's downtown area by me. So I went to regular school for half a day, and at lunch time I drove 20-25 minutes to a bus stop, where I took a bus for another 20-25 minutes to my intern for the rest of the day. This was Tuesday-Thursday 12-5 pm, almost my entire senior year. Early on, I sat in the back of the bus because it was full of the normal commuters. No bathroom, just a large bench. So I had to sit in the middle, looking straight down the aisle. There was a man to my left who was clearly drunk, very ruffed up clothing, and he had a beer can in his hand that he was drinking and waving out the window with his arm. He kept asking me questions about how old I was and where I lived and said I was pretty and I wanted to die that entire bus ride. I had no choice but to stay seated next to him for the entire trip and I'm a really shy person. So, once I graduated, I started to just drive myself down town. Hahaha. It's worth the high parking prices than to deal with that!!

@pancakes - holy crap. Yeah unfortunately, I bought a monthly pass so if this keeps up I'll be driving in.

Public transportation terrifies me. It took me two years to get brave enough to take the campus bus a mile from my husbands (boyfriend back then) apartment to my class.

Yep. I'm used to being in my car but it's a hour drive without traffic each way so I figured the bus would be a smoother option. Fooled me. Hahaha

    That's crazy!

I call the bus and the laundromat the people zoo. Only in these two places can you see the most random things.

So day 2 was uneventful. The drunk was not on the bus this evening. My coworker took a earlier bus so that he could go to the precinct about the incident last night.

Every month I have to go downtown to drop off the day care's billing. It's always an adventure. Last month, there was a drunk dude sitting on the library's steps (which is right across the street from a police station) and was just yelling and swearing at anyone walking by!
