More Bridesmaid drama? this has got to stop

chocolategirl, on March 7, 2010 at 10:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 12

I am really nice girl, very understanding and I really don't expect everything to revolved around me, although I am the bride. with that said, allmy bridesmaids exceptone missed our first appt. One was moving (understandable), one had to work (made appt just for her for the very next day), and one flaked on me to get her hair done/

Now today me and another bm, the one I made special appt for, were supposed to go and after asking 50 times if she was sure she could make it, she said yes. Now today when we are supposed to go, she says she'll go but she won't try anything on because her monthly friend came to visit?

Like what? I made the appt just for you. I don't want to force no one into a dress, that's not what it's about, I don't want to ghave to forcfe you.

my cousin went with no problem, she was on time, tried on the dresses with no problem, gave her input but looked to me for the final decision.

What is the point of going if she won't try anything on? That's not a very good excuse!

Both of my sisters skipped on our appointment, but my friends and FH sister made it. I don't understand! Hope things work themselves out, they usually do.

Geez...give her a damn tampon and tell her to carry on with life! What a bizarre excuse.

Thats just crazy.. I'm not gonna try anything on cuz my monthly friend is here... HUH?? so life stops every month because of that?? as my cycle is going at the moment it seams like mine will be here on my wedding... am I calling off the wedding?? or gonna walk down in jeans?? UMM NO!! I would go anyways today maybe she is just a bit moody.. and things might change when you get there... if not i'd kinda see how things pan out and if she isn't really into the whold wedding thing you might need to cut her I know it sounds harsh but you are getting to the 5 month mark like me.. I only had a MOH no BM's and had to cut her last week its hard but when they are not up to the simple obligations or have way too much going on in there own lives it has to be done.. for your sanity... Good luck and make the best of today see how it goes.. Let us know how everything works out..

I don't get that at all! Does she not go shopping at all when her monthly friend comes along! I would have told her to put on her big girl panties and get over it! I am sorry you have to deal with that! Good luck!

My goodness that's ridiculous. You have your period, it happens every month, you get dressed, you go to work, you get a little bloated. Take some midol and get OVER IT!

All I can say is WOW!!!! Just make sure she really wants to be there for you. Because you don't want any surprises closer to your wedding day. No extra stress is needed!! Good luck

Ridiculous! Im sorry that you have to experience that. Sometimes people are just fickle. Are you trying to give her/ bridal party an option in choosing her dress? Sometimes giving too many people options can be a problem.

Since only one of my bridal party lives in my town and she is never available to go with me because of her hubby and kids, i decided to take it upon myself to find the dresses. And my other BMs that live out of state all of them gave me their budget and blessings to choose. Once I knew what my wedding dress looked like I really choose their dresses based on mine. i went and tried on BM dresses just like I did wedding dresses. I narrowed it down to 4,sent the links to my MOH she helped me decide and that was that. So I basically in a nice way of course told my BMs what they were wearing. That may be an option for you. Since your cousin has already gone and liked some stuff but is still looking to you to decide. The other ladies may want more of your input too.
