I've had such a crappy day (NWR), Just need to vent.

Waiting for the rest but so far sounds like very stressful day. I am sorry it went bad i hope your evening is better and ill commment after the cont.

Time for my test to start. On top of that, the math test was one that required a lot of formulas and took up a lot of work space. I was running out of room on the test, so I asked the guy for a scrap piece of paper and he told me he was going to have to ask his supervisor. Ok, so I waited and this guy came out and told me that there are no scrap papers allowed and I would have to use any extra space on my test (there was none!). I explained that I was basically out of room and he just said it was their policy and I would have to make do. I was completely pissed off, I mean really? I don't see the big deal in a scrap piece of paper. I had kind of an attitude and said, "wow whatever" and went back in to finish my test. He came in and walked around me like 5 times after that like I was in there committing a crime and then when I turned in my test he said "I think we need to have a talk Mrs.___), I don't think you are aware of our policy and obviously were misinformed..."

Do they realize you are not doing 1+1 math and need working room how frustrating I'm sorry.

"It seems like there is a problem and maybe I need to talk to your instructor about this". I cut him off and said "First off, I forgot my ID so forgive me, but I went and got it and came back and I don't see why my asking for a sheet of scrap paper is such a huge deal and if you feel the need to talk to my instructor go right ahead if that makes you feel better but I know one thing, you can't fail me because I asked for a piece of paper and your policy is ridiculous." I was livid after this huge ordeal over nothing and decided to just get this day over with. I went and took my other two quizzes and then went to do my presentation. Of course, once I got there I realized I couldn't find my assignment sheet and it was the last day to turn it in. I talked to my instructor and she told me I could re-do it and bring it by on Monday but this meant a whole lot of work for me. It just seems like everything went wrong today and was way more difficult than it should have been.

I did find my assignment sheet and will turn it in but I'm just so annoyed and in such a pissy mood!

Can i just say i'm glad you stood up to the stupid a$$es that seemed to think needing a piece of paper was such a big deal... and it's pretty freakin' low to THREATEN you with talking to an instructor just because you wanted a piece of paper... WOW. I want to seriously punch someone after just READING that.

@Bre- Yeah that's kind of how I felt. I am seriously debating writing the math dept head and complaining. He was rude for no reason, even in his tone. I am a senior but suck and math so it was for a lower level math course that I had put off until now and he probably assumed I was a freshmen and didn't know any better or wouldn't say anything back.

Wow...that was a stressful day. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

Thanks guys! I just need some cheer i think, I feel bad cause i'm in a pissy mood and my fh worked all day and is trying so hard but it's just not working. He even went and go me choc chip cookies but he got the wrong kind lol, go figure.

I would definitely say something to the math department as YOU are PAYING for an education not to be treated like a piece of crap. There was no reason for them to be rude and while I see their point in that they want you to use what is provided with the test then they should also make sure that they provide enough work space paper to take the test.

I agree, take it up with math dept!! It's uncalled for!! So what, even if you had been a freshman and gave an attitude or whatever, a professional working for higher ed shouldn't ever threaten someone like that! Tehy should know better! I'm still baffled taht policy said you couldn't have more paper... wtf?

Wow, that whole scrap paper ordeal is just dumb! I remember when I was in college we were required to turn in our scrap paper, but that was it, it was never not allowed or anything. I'm sorry you had a bad day

I agree, I even told them I would give it back and they could shred it or whatever, I was not trying to cheat and him walking around and walking by my desk was a slap in the face, I mean really?

What an awful day, that is just rotten. The exact same thing happened to me during a "test out" maths exam, the supervisor refused my request for a scrap of extra paper, claiming that I had to use the back of the test page. I was livid so I "used" the back of the test page by drawing a big X across the page, I explained that as the question was a page long, I wanted to look at it as I worked through the problem, rather than flipping the page. I got my paper because I "used" the paper on the back of the exam!

I wish I would have thought about that, I had used most of my paper and still he was an ass, but it's all better now...nothing a good drink can't fix lol!

You have a wonderful FH who went out and got you cookies and you have certainly earned that drink!
