If You were a guest what would you like?

Katie, on March 26, 2019 at 8:18 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 45
What would you guys like or appreciate as wedding favours?

I need ideas lol. I guess it's a bit hard thinking of something everyone would like!

I prefer when it is something either edible or useful (such as wine-stoppers/bottle openers). But if I'm bringing something home to use, I won't be keeping anything monogrammed with your wedding day, etc. It can be cute any love themed, but save your money monogramming things.

I agree with PP. Edible or nothing. I don't think favors are necessary.

I'm in agreement about edible things. We got items for welcome bags for our guests instead of favors, but we have a much smaller intimate gathering of people (parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, 1st cousins, and best friends). We have attended weddings both with favors and without. The biggest hit are those with food. I've seen the monograms done and I have one pair of sunglasses from a wedding but I never use them and frankly don't know exactly where they are.

I’d say if it’s gunna hinder your budget, don’t worry about favors. Maybe give a donation instead and let everyone know that in lieu of favors you guys made a donation.
My fh and I are having a music themed wedding to the little instruments on every place setting will be our favor.

Something edible. I usually throw everything else away unless it’s useful.

Coming from an Italian background and just in my area favors are never skipped. Do everyone a favor though and don't do hersey fricken kisses lol. I could buy a bag at the store if I wanted to but I think they're a boring candy and better chocolate exists haha. Something else edible or something useful. We are doing shot glasses (nothing with our names on it) and a canning jar with candy coated almonds (Italian tradition). The canning jar can then double as decor for people's homes or they could make a candle out of it, etc because my mom is crocheting doilies for the lids.

I have gotten mini wine bottle before, I have gotten a plastic cup with the bride and groom's name, date, and a saying but I personally don't mind those (I still use them regularly and especially in the summer for lemonade and such), I have also gotten a glass mason jar where the label was plastic-y and able to be unstuck which was nice so now I have 2 perfectly usable mason jar glasses and I love them!

The only favors that I think are good are edible Smiley smile I'm the type of person who doesn't like clutter or random knick knacks sitting around and not being used or being useful.

If it's edible - I will likely take it. If it's not (cups, tumblers, sunglasses, koozies, anything with the bride/grooms name or date, etc) - I'll leave it.

I’m not doing favors. I don’t like clutter items in my home and so, I feel that’s what I would be providing.

Food or like tea. Something I can enjoy and doesn't clutter my apartment. I agree nothing that has the bride groom on or wedding date that's more for the close family.

I like the idea of incorporating the favor with the place cards. You could do personalized marble or wood drink coasters.

Having locally themed treats are also popular right now. Local chocolates, maple syrup, or hunny could be a fun/easy idea.

My favors have the place cards on the tag, so that everyone gets a keychain bottle opener with their table number.

I made little hangover kits with tylenol and mints hanging on a bottle of water. Found it on pinterest and they are super easy, inexpensive and practical.

    Mine:

    Mini Aloe Vera Plants

Candy (Like Reese's Pieces in little science tubes)

    FH:

    Honey

    Maple Syrup

What we don't like/don't normally take home with us:

    Anything that is personalized.

    Photos of the Bride/Groom.

Items that have the Bride/Groom on them or their names on them. (Ex: Fridge Magnets)

You don't really have to, but edibles are the best favors in my opinion.

Agreed with above. something I can eat, even if it's one great lollipop opposed to a key chain or bottle opener (which we all already have).

Magnets are great! This is the most used gift that i've seen because most people will use them just for the hell of it (hey another magnet, just throw it on the fridge).
