Ladies, what does your FI/FH do that absolutely drives you crazy and gets on your nerve? How do you handle it?

I absolutely hate when my FI comes home and strips of his clothing and just leaves it on the floor. Or tries to toss clothes in the laundry bag, but miss and then leave the clothes on the floor. Aaaah! I hate it. I love him, but I hate a mess. I usually will put on my calm voice and ask him nicely to pick up after himself. Sometimes I will vent to him, but it usually goes nowhere and I end up picking it up myself.

He never answers his phone or texts, ever. Pretty much my biggest annoyance with him because there have been times when I really really need him to be accessible. It scares me to know that in the event of an emergency, he won't know right away. I list my mom as an emergency contact along with him most times.

He is always on his phone playing video games of some sort, no matter where we are. I just stare at him creepily until he looks at me and then comes back to the real world.

I hate when he knows I just emptied the dishwasher, then walks by and puts a utensil or a glass by the sink 10 minutes later. Um. Hello?! I just cleared it out for you to put your own dishes away you bum... living with a roommate has totally ruined him, he used to be much neater than I am. Oh well. I do things that drive him nuts too, I know. And to be fair, my clothes are all over the place in our room.

FH can be very stubborn about the simplest things... its soooo stupid. for example cutting his nails. He will literally let them grow until one breaks and hurts him. I try to cut them down occasionally he gets upset like it takes to long... it takes 2 minutes to cut your nails. Oh and he is VERY last minute. with everything. When he says hes done something in advance it means he half did it and plans to finish it at the last minute. He'll get a big order today, needed in 2 weeks. Instead of starting today he'll wait until the day before its due and complain about how it took him all day or he was up all night... when he could have got it done 2 weeks ago easily. As you can tell we don't work well on a time schedule. I lie to him about the times of everything important

If my DH stripped off his clothes when he came home, I'd let him leave them wherever just to I can check him out! lol! The most annoying thing he does is flip off the switch that controls my bedside lamp so I have to get out of bed to turn it on. It happens 5 days a week. I just get snarky with him and he laughs.

Mine is always on his phone. When we go out on our date nights he never stops getting on his phone, this past weekend I got pretty upset because I took him out for his birthday and we are sitting there at dinner and what is he doing. .. yep that's right playing on his phone. I don't mind it and I love him but sometimes I just want it to be me and him not me, him and his phone.

What does FI stand for? It seems like maybe it is a gender-neutral alternative to FH, but I can't figure out what the I means.

Chrissy if you look on one of the stickies, it explains all the lingo (trust me I had no idea what BAM meant)... I believe FI is future intended

my loving fiance is always on his phone, and now he has another phone for work so that's double annoying. Or he always puts dishes in the sink, doesn't even look or ask about the dishwasher. But I always leave my shoes in the middle of the entrance, and never hang up my coat (why would you when there is a perfectly good chair to throw it on?!)

I try not to lose my shit on him about these things because in the end he is a great man and I love him.. and I know I'm annoying too Smiley tongue

@Chrissy it stands for Future Intended or Fiance, according to the glossary.

Oh, also, FH has this wonderful habit of getting super absorbed into his Nintendo or cartoons on Netflix...he has a stressful job, so it's fine...or it would be, if we weren't long distance and I came home from school/work every day during his pre-deployment leave and he wouldn't even look up until he captured another Pokemon!

Thanks girls! That's what was in the back of my mind, but I felt like it couldn't be right because your "intended" is your future spouse, so it's kinda like saying your future future spouse lol

Mine does not do any kind of housework without being stood over. Trash full? He'll just put trash on the counter and the table instead of taking the trash out. On my way out the door to work, I mention that the dishwasher was run, or that there are clean clothes in the dryer and they are always still waiting for me when I get home... I mean, last week, I caught him wearing MY socks TWICE because he was too lazy to do laundry himself, and after asking him multiple times to make sure he puts his laundry in the basket instead of shedding socks all over the apartment, I finally just decided that I am ONLY going to wash the laundry in the basket. He can't figure out how he ran out of socks! I try to remind myself that he has good intentions since he is always saying that he is going to do this or that, but when days and days pass and he STILL hasn't done whatever he said, it just builds more frustration. Not to mention that we don't even have kids yet and I already feel like every morning when I come home from work, it's like cleaning up after children - he leaves his plates out, he uses at least three cups a day which I find all over, food wrappers left lying around, etc.

@chrissy not necessarily. Not everyone on WW is engaged or married. We've had many people on the forums know their getting engaged & join the site or are in serious relationship. So while FI is gender neutral it also includes those who aren't engaged. Like someone intends to marry their bf or gf. And then some relationship don't have titles. About two weeks after I got engaged, a guy I went to school w/ propsed to his bestfriend. Like was never his gf. She said yes.

Sometimes he doesn't think twice about inconveniencing me, like when he leaves towels on the floor...soaking wet, or he leaves doors completely open and lights on, he also is a way over-user...I am trying to drill into him that you only need one paper towel to dry your hands...not 3. Lol I laugh about it but he has improved as of late. He used to eat with his eyes and throw out half of his food (I'd get so mad because I think it's super rude) he's much better now. As you can see I'm not the kind of person to be wasteful. He is making a huge effort to not do these things so I'll consider myself lucky.

Ha! I have the same problem...I believe it's men in general though. I try to nip some things that REALLY effect me now in the bud so when we decide to take that huge leap into the married life it wont cause major problems. Talking in a calm, non defensive tone does seem to work for me. But like I mentioned before...it's just men in general...Cant live with em' cant live without em' =)
