Day 1 of dress shopping

Antonette, on July 24, 2010 at 5:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 29

I just got back from trying on some dresses. It was an ok first experience. I did not take a pic of all the dresses because there was not really a “wow” this is it feeling. I will go back out into (the wild) next week to try on more dresses. I have over a year so I want to take my time and find MY dress. I will take some more pics next week.lol

Your face in the first and third say it all. It's very pretty, but just not IT! Good luck in your continued search.

You look very beautiful. Enjoy the process! You'll know in your heart and in your dance that you've found "the one"!

Lol yea I did not get the "wow" feeling but still have time.@UrDreamPlanner my wedding theme is fun yet beautiful and sexy. That's the kind of dress I want. something that is not too traditional but also elegant and sexy. I know it's alot to ask for in a dress but I have hope that there is a dress out there like that.

I absoutely love the first one one you. I would go with a simpler veil because the dress has so much gorgeous detail. Definitely keep looking if you are not satisfied but so far you have some great choices.

Congrats on your first day hunt Smiley smile While you might not have found the dress...did you learn anything about the style you like or what looks best on you? When I go in next week that's my man goal!

    .

I dont normally like ball gowns personally but I LOVE that one on you and the bodice and fit of the first one (corset back ?) really shows off your curves...BTW your facial expression is hilarious Smiley smile

I know you don't want a dress with sleeves but look at some halter top dresses. I think they would look really good on you. Something like these:

Oh yeah..you have plenty of time!!! I first went 6 months before my wedding and luckily found it on the same day at the first store I went to but....it's good you're starting early if it's what you want. Personally...I love the princessy gown with the tulle skirt you tried on. SO pretty!

I agree with LutaWolf...even though the dresses you tried on are beautiful, you didn't have that wow feeling,i also think maybe a halter style would look great on you..

Ditmara I totally have to disagree with you hun lol I didn't like the tulle skirt but I did love the skirt on the first dress, she can totally pull off that kind of skirt. Kind of like the second picture I put up as an example, now that would look amazing on her.

Great ideas ladies I will try on some halter tops when I go next weekend.I have to be honest and say for the first time in a long time I felt fat. I wanted to cry because the sale lady kept saying "wow you are very blessed girl" and she only said it when I was putting a dress on not taking it off. By the third dress I wanted to cry. I came home and broke down crying and my FS had tears in his eyes trying to say all the right words to make me feel better.
