Can't Handle It: Too Many Double Ring Avatars

Hot Like Bea, on April 5, 2016 at 11:01 PM

Hey ya'll - change your pictures, because the double-ring screams "I'm spam, I'm a troll!" No one wants to be spam, and no one wants to be a troll.

I actually always click on double ring posts because I hope it's something crazy. I don't even care if it's a troll. This place could use some livening up (where's Miss Sharky Redsock?!)!

That being said, if people want this place to feel like a "community" again, people need to change their avatars because that's how we recognize you. Then again, if you're coming around to ask one question and then GTFO, then cool, don't change it. But obviously there ARE people who aren't changing theirs even though they're sticking around, and that's annoying.

It makes you want to leave when people ask you to change your picture so you're part of the community? Little dramatic...

Double rings= troll or something totally fucking crazy that we can all be entertained by. It's a crap shoot.

I just like being able to recognize names, and a lot of our names are similar (I know I am like 1 of 12718 Holly's on here). IT's just helpful to change it. I am definitely less likely to click on a thread if the OP has rings and 1 star.

If we don't know you, we don't care about you, so if you want to leave, knock yourself out, sister.

Having double rings significantly reduces the amount of responses you are going to get. Just sayin'

Seriously. I'm really not understanding why it's such a big deal to not change it, nor do I understand why you wouldn't want to be an active, recognized user. But as pp have said, you do you.

You don't need the picture to be you. I'm pretty sure I'm not David Tennant.

Its part of the community guidelines that the moderators put out to change it. If you are a part of the community, you should comply. You aren't special.

P.S. Read the mod authorized guidelines!

It is much different because you could be any out of a hundred ring users. If you need help, it's real difficult to know which ring user you are. Plus, you could be a spam or a troll user-- which isn't conducive to receiving help.

Did you leave the generic avatar on your Facebook as well? I doubt it.

Art, good point! I mean, your WW could be this if you want to. At least it's not double rings!

Your ideas are donkey bonnet esque.

The rest of us took the effort to blend into the community and follow the guidelines by changing our photos.

It's probably too mainstream to have a profile picture.

Bailey why do you care about getting your 5th star if you don't care enough to be part of the community?
